philly garage damaged my car! please help

parked on a 'central parking system' garage between 15th and 16th and sansom in philly for dinner at tria and the grand opening of pulse nightclub. pretty good night, but when i returned to the garage i had a wait a few minutes for the attendant to get the car. all i could hear was the car start, rev up pretty high, then a loud bang. start up again, followed by another loud bang. i thought something was definately up. i searched the car to find the right front and rear underskirt/splashguards slightly damaged and my front rim curbed with clear tire marks on the sidewall. i was pissed! i had them write up an incident. those guys a bunch of bastards. you really have to be on them because they'll deny anything. i've read about nightmares about attendants and i had a funny feeling but i saw a bunch of high dollar cars mercs and bentleys so i thought ok. i've actually parked with them before in my max, so i didn't think much. big mistake! i have a written ticket with the numbers that i should call. any advice on how to followow up is appreciated. i did get names and i've been calling them. they told me i was going to receive a call within 5 business days. i'm asking for advice on how to speed up the process and how to guarantee they'll repair the car to my liking and asap. i understand what has already happened is the past. i hope i took the right steps. so...what to do now? this is bumming me out.

Judge Judy will put them in their place! I personally never park my car at those lots unless its self park. They will dog the $hit out of your car once they got the keys...lesson learned!

I had this happen to me and they paid the entire bill for me and the rental car. Write down exactly what happened, times, date who you spoke to etc. Be as detailed and specific as possible. You should call the number they gave you and/or speak to the manager of the parking place you went to. They have to file a claim with their insurance co. You do not have to alert your insurance carrier at all. It is all on them, and since they had the keys to your car and drove it, they are liable. You will need to let their insurance company know what happened and then you should go and get an estimate done as to where you want it fixed. Then fax the estimate to the insurance company of the parking garage. (Not the parking garage itself, their insurance carrier.) Just keep up with them in communication and check on status, but you should be able to take you car in to the place you want it fixed and they will bill the parking garage insurance people directly. You do not have to put a dime out. Let me know if you need anything else.

Yea he doesn't have to put a dime out, but he sure has to go through a lot of hoops to correct someone else's mistake which I'm sure will be time consuming and frustrating. Good luck!

Actually, my experience wasn't bad. I spoke to the manager, I went and got an estimate on my car, I faxed to the insurance company of the parking garage and then I dropped my car off at the body shop and they had the loaner there for me waiting. Then I picked my car back up in like 3-4 days and that was it. No bill no money given out, nothing. The body shop dealt with the insurance company directly. Good luck!
