someone told me he knew someone that got a speeding ticket in the mail and the proof was in the e-z pass records. for example, if u went from 1 booth to the next booth that is 10 miles away in 5 minutes then u were obviously doing 120mph or more. i havent confirmed this though, and have no idea wat state the person lives in or even where he was speeding

rumors. You as the driver get ticketed, not the car. They would need proof that you were the driver, so unless they have a camera angled at the front of your car to get a picture of your pearly whites, no ticket. They tried doing this in the very very beginning of EZ Pass and this is how the rumors started. Doesn't hold up in court

No, tickets are not the biggest source of income for most communities. Everyone pays taxes, few get tickets for speeding.

Also, there are times when exceeding the posted speed limit is required for safety, this will never fly....

well look at GM w/ onstar, the Acura RL, and the BMW's that all offer OnStar and also call you to remind you when you're up for maintainence. Their system is basically a big brother watching you and I've heard cases of warranties being voided b/c they will track and record how bad you beat on the car and if you abuse it to the point where something does break -- it's not covered.
