Maintenance / Repair Help
Did you check the fluid levels of the battery? Like Dofu said, the battery needs regular maintenance as well. Fill with distilled water if low. There are fill level markings on the insdie of the battery, you can see them if you shine a light in there
Hey guys my brake light in the rear window is out. Is this a fuse or bulb problem? Is it an easy fix, or should I take it to the dealer since it's under warranty?

Hey Dofu,
My car is a 2005, with 85k miles. I probably do have a lot more miles than you do... Anyway, the car starts now. I Just came back from shopping a couple of hours ago. I suppose I will put in a new battery for piece of mind. It really would be nice to figure out what could have happened.
I had tires replaced Friday all 4 corners. Could the install shop have damaged or bumped something there? I really doubt anything could be bumped in the wheel wells... but maybe?
Thanks for any thoughts you may have.

I do have the SES light if I try to start it and it doesn't go. I checked for the code using the counting blinks method described in another thread and it was a 0000 (no malfunction). If the car starts the SES light is not illumniated.
Have you done any kind of work on the car since the summer? I'm wondering if you may have a short/drain somewhere. Any aftermarket electronics (stereo, amps..alarm..etc) that you have installed? Also, when kragen did the load test, did they charge the battery up for you?
Start looking around for any worn or shorted wires in the engine bay and anywhere else you can see. Most electrical gremlins I've seen were shorts/drains from aftermarket electronics (Alarms, Stereos/amps..etc) Also, make sure your problems have nothing to do with the rains.....water gets into odd places and causes shorts easily. Electrical "gremlins" are often a Bit%! to diagnose for mechanics. Your right...$$$$! Try to get them to give you an estimate for repairs rather than getting charged to diagnose it. Shop says it is the starter. So they order a part but it has a crack in it. This was last night. This morning the new part they got is the wrong one. Their distributor is out of parts. Now I have to wait until tomorrow afternoon as they wait for an overnight from Infiniti. I think it may be cursed.
