help! compression rod replacement @ local dealers
hey guys,
if you have had your compression rod(s) replaced by a local dealer, please post up where you got it replaced. especially if you have a modified suspension. frontier is denying being able to reproduce the problem and on top of it they added that since my car is lowered, it voids the warranty on my suspension.
i want to get this creaking fixed!

i'm going to try and demonstrate this for them and explain to brad that if this is a known problem, they should fix this regardless of the different springs. this is pissing me off...
I had mine replaced for the creaking before my warrenty expired at Frontier. I'm stock suspension. They couldn't reproduce the problem either, but replaced them anyway. Yeah, Brad is my advisor too.

Maybe a stock vehicle reproducing the same problem can help get it fixed. I'm not sure if mine does it but it is stock and if so we can loan it to you possibly. Also call up Nissan/Infiniti and let them know what Frontier is saying. Frontier is just worried about the costs they have to eat, but if customer service says it is okay, and they have authorized similar repairs before, then they pick up the bill and Frontier is happy again!
yeah i agree with you. there is a TSB out there on this. my service adviser even brought up the TSB before they looked at the car! that's why i'm frustrated about this... it has nothing to do with a .5-1" drop from oem unrevised Z springs. i will probably try again in jan/feb with infiniti of oakland or niello since i'm moving to east bay soon (and probably bringing you service 2 visions

Hey we like business! I would still call up the Customer Relations Dept.. you will be surprised how willing they are to make you satisfied. Just tell them you work for HONDA.. haha!
i think that's a good idea. i'm awaiting a call back from my service adviser. if i can't work it out with him, i will probably call consumer affairs and open a file. then i'll try again after i return from my trip in january.
btw random aside, but i still think you guys should have sponsored a 1st gen sedan instead of another coupe
i think the 07+ sedan aftermarket will be small for quite a while. early sedan adopters will be conservative, slowing down how much aftermarket parts they go after (look at the M crowd) and now that 1st gen sedans are getting cheaper, younger kids are picking them up looking to mod... just my unsolicited .02, biased by wanting good hookups

)can you show me the TSB on this because as far as I know there is no official TSB on this problem. i would love to have a TSB in hand the next time i go to the dealer.

The Coupe project was actually to replace the dealership vehicle we gave to a dealership to sell. We needed a replacement and I am selling my personal G35 to replace with another fun project.. hehe! Not the new Sedan either.
