Another vote for Omega. Had mine done last week.
50%, 35%, 20% Lumar. I also had him do a clearbra which looks great.

Omega (vince) offers a great deal!

Tint approx. $200+

Clear Bra approx. $800+

Tint + Clear Bra approx. $700+

=========================

vince was telling me over the phone to remind everyone in the forums that he recommends that everyone who want their tints done should do it before summer comes. he said during the summer, it could take up to 3-4 weeks 'wait' for your schedule appointment.

=========================

no doubt this guy is great. he has excellent expirience with window tinting. he also ONLY holds few of the top quality film. AND add-on to that he still gives his customers LIFETIME WARRANTY.

getting my tints next week. he assured me that i will be satisfied. great customer care!!

How do the tint shops work around how our windows auto-roll up when you close the doors? Do they disable that feature? If so is it easy to enable it or do you have to return to the tint shop after it drys and sets?

When mine was done, Sid disabled the slight roll down feature when door is open while installing. When he was done, he enabled it back. Told me not to roll the windows up/down for I think a few days or a week, but the slight window movement of the door opening/closing should be ok, just try not to open/close door unnecessarily. Nothing happened to mine. It was in the hot summertime when mine were done. Colder days like now may take longer for the film to set, idk.

Vince at Omega disabled the feature while he was tinting, and he left it disabled. He said not to roll up or down the windows for a couple days, and showed me how to re-enable the slight roll up and down feature. He didn't even want the window to roll up or down slightly, just to ensure the best results. Re-enabling the feature was VERY easy. Just one simple screw on each side.

^^^But doesn't closing the door with the window all the way up run the risk of jamming the glass in it's rubber seat and risking breakage?
Did yours close with no problems? Just curious. Heard it's not a good idea to close your door that way.

Ok, I was thinking you had to take the door panel off to get to the screw. I should go take a closer look at my door.

Thanks for the info, guys.

For you folks who are getting tints done soon, can you please post pics and info of what you got. I'm interested in seeing how the tints and percentages look and this would be really helpfu.

Thanks.

Dave E H,

Here's a pic but it's not great. I didn't have Vince do anything special since the area is small and the matrix never bothers me.

better make a phone call now because if you plan to come up here to NorCal and only staying for couple of days...well, if you make a phone call while you are here, youre going to make change of plans because youre going to have to wait an extra week until you are scheduled...so uhh, yeeaaaah, CALL!

i'm going to make poll concerning tints. since i live in california, our front windows cannot be tinted more than 70%, if not, at all.

i'm planning to get Limo (5%) for the rear windows and 20% for the fronts. would that combination make the front window look lighter since it is lighter than limo. or should i go with 20% rear window and 35% up front? i'm more into the darker side to look uniform with the body paint..lighter to be able to see at night. i dont know what i want. i think i need 2nd opinions from those who probably went through the same thing i'm going through. thanks in advance!
