Tint Shop in the Bay Area?

I went with carbon Llumar to minimize any interference with radar and other electronics. He did a great job putting 50 in the front sides, 35 in the rear sides, 20 on the rear windshield, and 20 on the sunroof. Now I can just leave the sunshade on the sunroof open without my head baking! He also pointed out that my windows already have some faint scratches, because they become more pronouced once the tint is on. It looks great, but now it's late at night so no pics yet. I'll get some pics after my ski day tomorrow...no not bringing the G35S up to the snow.He put a bright green sticker of the window controls "DO NOT ROLL UP OR DOWN FOR 3 to 5 DAYS." You should also make sure your lockout for the passengers is set your passengers don't move the windows.
He wants me to send a reminder out to this forum that he is now 1.5 weeks booked and that may go to 4 weeks during the summer. Get your tints now or you'll sweat during a long wait in the summertime.

I have a couple questions:
What is the best type of film to use for my car?
What percentages should I go for front, rear sides & back?
Thanks in advance

^^^The best type of film is a hard question to answer. They're all good these days.
Really depends I suppose to the UV and Infrared (heat) retention of the film if that's the most important thing to you. Was for me.
Heard metallic types can/could interfer with FM/SAT and NAVI reception, so I stayed away from those.
Plus metallic types have that reflective mirror look, which is really nice, but can attract more attention with the law, imo more so than dark tints.
Don't know much about the carbon types as mentioned before. Those metallic? IDK.
Not trying to sell you Huper Optiks, but that's the one I chose due to it's excellent UV and heat retention qualities, ceramic base and no reception interference.
Plus it's retention characteristics were close if not better than the very dark (20 - 5% limo) types.
But, it is more expensive than other films and costs more to install due to it being a thicker film and harder to mold the curvature of our back windows, etc.
What looks good is a personal choice.
Dark tints looks really nice, but many factors to consider like obviously illegal looking (on front windows only) and hard to see through at night, etc, but looks hella cool.
There is no restrictions on % in California for rear sides and back window %'s. Only on fronts (70%) which is basically oem.
Mine were 73-75% on fronts with a meter before tints. Just an FYI
My best advice would be look at other ppl's rides and decide what you like and then ask them what kind and % they have.

I had mine done by Premiere in Fremont - www.premiermobilegroup.com and I left able to roll the windows down right away. There also was no gap on the top edge of my glass, which was another plus. great guys to work with!

don't get me wrong....i think it's a decent price. but, as stated, he's quite aways from me--roughly a 40 min. drive. and considering there are also reputable places right next to me that are offering the same price, it's hard to justify going that far away and paying the same price. however, i think vince does great work and is a very nice guy.
