Yeah yeah, I gave you that one on purpose.

Seriously,
I'm sorry I can't go this weekend, but I'll be there for the main run.

Here is my opinion on runs/meets:

I have only been to a few g35 meets (all in the year of 2005). I have been to a few other meets/cruises though. I have enjoyed every meet I have gone too, and will really try to make it out to some more. Thanks for all the hard work and planning.

I definately think the subgroup thing is a good idea. I don't think you should make too many subgroups though. Depending on the size of the group, I'm sure you can choose a good size number. It would be fun to have groupnames, and whatnot.

Printed out maps, and directions are also very helpful. For newbies like myself, I recommend bringing at least one passenger in each car, just to help navigate. This is usually what is done w/ "gumball" rally's and has proven great results.

For all those w/ the benefits of navigation. Don't be afraid to use it. You never know when there is a detour, or another route that is needed. I think people tend to depend on the leader's too much, instead of trying to help them out if unforeseen things come up.

For those that do want enjoy a little faster pace, maybe you can put them all into one subgroup. When I have gone to exotic car runs, this is what they like to do. The faster paced group does go in a slighty longer route so that they won't have to wait around too long.

If organizing help is needed, I can definately help out. However, I do not want to be a leader. I admit I am young of age, so I don't have as much driving experience and road knowledge as other fellow g35 owners.

Sorry for the long entry.

Haha...we needed you to do that at our Stanford meet.
The wagons just kept circling round and round. No one ahead of me wanted to turn right and start the run, even after Shane told them which way to turn...lol.
Well I did after Shane asked if I would take the lead and did and then got my pack lost

I had to make two more leaders on the spot as some did not follow the two leaders out of parking lot, they just keep on circling the parking lot , directions is something that I need to improve on, but than again, if we all take few minutes to familiarize ourselfs with the drive routes? we dont or need to have sub-leaders, of course that will be too easy.
Not really Shane. After I and my wife relized how you had the directions set-up with odo readings, etc., they were very straight forward and accurate.
Actually, very well done btw. Totally my fault for not zeroing my odo when I was supposed to and should of had my navi on as a back-up, then wouldn't have missed that turn on Portola.

EM sent too. Pm'ed you earlier as well.

Great idea...
Some want that pace...some don't.
Got my vote.

I understand the idea for such a group, but you have to remember that the way someone drives reflects on all of us as a whole. I think the leader of the "faster paced" group should be responsible and lay down some ground rules. If someone drives recklessly or causes an accident that could end our runs for good. Especially after the attention NorCal G got after the last meet.

I plan on being in one of the "slower paced" groups, thank you very much.

I always learn something about my car following someone else.
Thanks to Wes on the last run, I'm 10x more confident in twisties.

I'll also compete for the back of the pack, I always end up there anyway.

I understand what you are saying. (especially if both groups have the same stickers or what not)

Both groups should still be ranked by speed/pace. As far as reckless driving, and accidents um.... I guess all we can do is clearly define the ground rules.

There may be as many as three or four groups depending on the number of cars. Also, if I do go, I plan on double side taping my front plate on my bumper just to avoid drawing attention. I suggest other members do so as well. Also, think about driving with the front windows down if your tint is dark. The less attention we draw from LE the better.
