Police crackdown.

Just thought this would be important as the Santa Cruz is coming up.

If it's a repost then sorry in advance.

Thats messed up. However, I usually see this stuff more in Socal. It seems like less of an issue in Norcal.

Settle down, Nate, breath. Read what actually happened. The LEO did nothing wrong. Were their methods a surprise to everyone? Yes . . . However, the tickets, which were written, should have been no surprise to anyone.

Are some of the laws a bit strict? Sure, some of them may be. However, we all know of these rules well in advance. So, who is really at fault here? Those of you with children will probably understand better. It's the same thing we attempt to teach our kids.

Guys, operations such as these don't occur on a whim.
Usually an insider / informant has a lead on much bigger offenses, such as stolen items or illegal narcotics.

Imagine the face of the department setting up a raid to simply give out fix-it tickets.
Attorney's would have a field day in such a circumstance.

We don't have to worry about a thing!

I chose to teach my 14yo how I was in the wrong by not having my front plate on the other day when I got pulled over after picking him up from his mothers. Mind you I bit my tongue at first but thought about it and decided to teach rather than complain about breaking a law.

"Officers then began a warrantless search and interrogation operation of the 150 vehicles that were present."

I'm pretty sure it is stated many times before that the LEO's, whether it is a operation or not, require a warrant to search your property. However, if your car just so happen to have it's hood popped open or your doors or windows are already open they are able to look inside without one.

Fix it tickets are just additional violations they noted, if you read it they actually confiscated some cars that probably had drugs, illegally imported parts, and or stolen items from other personal property. Either way if you keep your nose clean and eat the fix it tickets that you're bound to get, it's not that bad.

Do you think "g35 chippie" would narc us out? He was just on the board preaching about tail light overlays of all things.

I'm starting to rethink this whole Santa Cruz meet thing. I don't have anything major on my car, but I would be so pissed if I got a fix it ticket from some **** LEO for my light 35% tint on my front windows. I really like my tint and don't want to go through the hassle of removing it.
