Anyone know the Stillen intake CARB site or the HKS Ti street legal doc?

Tech: Sorry sir, I don't have that.
Me: Okay, well according to VC 27151 (gives him a copy of the code) "No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted by the motor of the vehicle so that the vehicle is not in compliance with the provisions of Section 27150 or exceeds the noise limits established for the type of vehicle in Article 2.5 (commencing with Section 27200). No person shall operate a motor vehicle with an exhaust system so modified."
Tech: ah you did your homework. Here's your certificate of compliance.

He's going to say, you need 4 cats. Your hks only has 2 cats. on the back. Your homework is nice, but there is not enough proof to back you up for not having a E.O. #. It just say you can't have a loud exhaust.

Okay.. Then he can go to his database (every state ref has it) and see how many catalytic converters are installed in a stock G35. He should be able to identify that there are indeed 2 cats for our cars.

Now the EO number. If this rule does not exist (I can't find it) then therefore the law must not be enforced. That's BS right there.

Question man, did they do a sound-test on you? And if so did they give you a copy?

And did they run smog-check on your car?

Thanks

NO sound test. We will pass the sound test for sure, unless you have other stuff.

there are a few ways to handle this either
1. go to the other state ref cuz those guys are all newbs
2. pwn them by asking a friend with a stock g35 to go with you and show them
3.pwn them by going to the dealership and getting a tech to type up a letter stating the g35 does not have 4 cats...

you need to pwn the state ref... get a friend with a stock g35 exhaust and have them check that one out and they will see its not 4 cats

or get a tech from infiniti write you a letter stating the g only has 2 cats on letterhead...

pwn those idiots... failing a passing car is ghey...

well if dealership is willing to type that up, im pretty sure they will be thats an quick and easy trip. a few of my buddys have stock exhausts so id just drive there with them and rub it in their face... just because they shouldnt put people through this if its legal...

i called my friend who is a smog tech and he said starting out at smog you have to spend so many hours at state ref then test only before you can go to a real smog shop so he isnt surprised
