Quick question.is it legal and where?

I want to chrome my entire car. First is it possible? Second is it legal? Third where can I find someone that can do it and at what cost? Yes it won't be full chrome considerig there are plastic parts but I need as close as possible. Yes the glare in the afternoon will lead to accidents on the road but what if I do a 40 percent gradient chrome?

I was thinking about this a while ago. I see more cars getting this custom paint, which would be your best option. You would not want to actually chrome plate your car unless you want to add alot of weight.

This stuff looks great but not sure if it as practical for a car, even though they have done some cars. Its applying layer of metal so they say there is a chance it can conduct electricity. Im loving the blue chrome

The section you are quoting here is in regards to SUN SCREENING DEVICES, not paint. This section has no bearing on paint. I would have to do some research, but as far as I know, chroming your car would be legal.

Ok, so I found this section. It's actually in the section regarding lighting, but like I always say, it's all about reading comprehension. That's the judges job.

25500. (a) Area reflectorizing material may be displayed on any
vehicle, provided: the color red is not displayed on the front;
designs do not tend to distort the length or width of the vehicle;
and designs do not resemble official traffic control devices, except
that alternate striping resembling a barricade pattern may be used.
No vehicle shall be equipped with area reflectorizing material
contrary to these provisions.
(b) The provisions of this section shall not apply to license
plate stickers or tabs affixed to license plates as authorized by the
Department of Motor Vehicles.

If the chrome is blinding everyone on the road then this section would apply in my opinion:

24002. (a) It is unlawful to operate any vehicle or combination of
vehicles which is in an unsafe condition, or which is not safely
loaded, and which presents an immediate safety hazard.
(b) It is unlawful to operate any vehicle or combination of
vehicles which is not equipped as provided in this code.

I checked into the chrome paint, you are looking at well over $10K just for the paint. The "application system" alone is $8500
