Look What I Got Today!
Don't hate bro. Trust me, it will add nothing to the convenience to their lives. It's just really shiny and new and a complete waste of money.
Oh dang, did I just hate too?

Yep, some of the apps are pretty damn cool too. Oh and Arnab, my friend who is a developer says there is code in there for multitasking expose style....so rumor is 4.0 might enable that feature.
I jailbroke my iphone for a couple months and being able to multitask was really nice, plus the open apps were really handy... i'm curious what all they're going to add to 4.0
Yay a 500-700 dollar e-book reader!
But I'll await Ted's review.
Lol I don't see why ppl hate on the product or the price. Especially since I'm talking to a group of guys that are willing to drop 3k on metal and rubber because it looks better and may be a little lighter.
Anyway I like it you just haft play with it to kinda realize the awesome potential of the device
I texted dal and told him that if he wants to play with one he could go to the best buy at tuttle where i bought mine, but i added that he should be careful because after playing with it he probably will want to buy one...which he did haha...

Hate's a strong word really...
I just find that no matter what product (garbage or not) Steve Jobs releases, Apple people eat it up like it's the best thing since sliced bread. The iPhone was pretty revolutionary yet it took them three gens to update firmware so it could MMS and copy and pasta. And yet, I'll be honest Apple has a lot of innovations that have changed the way we use/interact with tech.
But I really don't get the revolution that is the iPad. I'm curious what is the awesome potential you are talking about? Yes it weighs 1.5lbs (same as most netbooks), is aesthetically pleasing (postive), and is a full touch screen (which is nifty). But you have to jailbreak it (which few people will/know how to do in the whole market) to run more than one app, and aside from surfing the internet on a flat touchy interface and viewing pictures and running apps on a 10" screen, I don't get it.
What amazing thing is it doing for me that my iPhone doesn't do on a small ultra-portable scale and that a whole 3.5lb tablet PC w/ a 12.1" screen and full tactile keyboard cannot do? (I'm genuinely curious, because I cannot figure it out.)
If it's the fact that it's 2lbs lighter and has a full touch screen so I can zoom in and out like a jackass, well Jobs can shove that iPad right up his vagina.
edit: Or if it's so I can ****ing play scrabble with 3 other people who have iPhones, I'll punch you right in the vagina.

It merges the iPhones user friendly ui and combines it with a larger form factor. The potential I speak of, imagine if you could carry all your medical textbooks around with you and could access them easily? The reason you don't see that now is because accessing ebooks with a traditional mouse is just not very intuitive. I've already put the service manuals for my car and bike on the ipad. One of the cooler apps I saw took your rss feeds and created a newspaper layout with photos of articles pulled from sites you get feeds.
Anyway i think its less a revolution and more a paradigm shift in how ppl will consume media and other related content. Like i said i like it, and I think it'll really shine when I go on business trips. As handy as the iphone is for browsing, the limited screen size makes it a real pain sometimes.
