Car looks great, but don't be surprised if the siwrl reappear after about 4 weeks or so. I have a feeling that for $75, all they did was wash, light polish, glaze and seal.

$75 is awfully cheap! If they don't reappear, you got a helluva deal!

I hope that's not all they did, I talked with them a bit about what they were actually going to do and they said they were going to use a snap-on rotary (much like a porter cable from the looks of it) and 3m swirl removal and then a coat of wax.

I do know, they've only been open a few months down here and are trying to get some publicity. (I work for the paper so maybe he gave me a deal without telling me in hopes I'd give free advertisement)

Yeah OB is a PITA when it comes to swirls. If you have them they are a lot more noticable than on most colors, but at the same time when its clean and freshly waxed there's nothing sexier.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe 3M swirl remover may actually have fillers in it. I think there is a post on Autopia regarding that. The snap on rotary is very different from a PC. Rotaries are used for very major paint correction and can cause a ton of damage in teh worng hands. Since the work in a circular motion, the build up alot of heat. There are a few guys on AUtopia that can use a rotary solely and get stellar results that are LSP ready, but they are few and far between.

Rotaries take alot of practice to master and very difficult to learn to use as a finishing polish tool. Most guys that use rotaries will use the PC afterwards in order to remove any marring or halogramming left behind by the rotary.

The PC and CYCLO polishers are random orbiting and do not generate anywhere near the heat of the rotary. They are basically fool proof and you would have to intentionally want to damage the paint and even then, it would be difficult to do so with a PC (Of course anything is possible).

I am not trying to be an **** here, just want to make sure you got what you were told you did. Give a month or 2 and see what happens. Hell even for that price, if the swirls do come back, hopefully they knocked a large portion of them out and you can get threst yourself with a PC or Cyclo.

My only other concern was if your G actually required the use of a rotary. All too often I think shops reach for the rotary when it isn't necassary.
