Nice shots Cal. Sean, nice strut bar, does the GT Spec one have better clearance than the NRG did on your hood?

Cal I tried to do the "see through shot" again and failed miserably...LOL. My edges never come out as "smooth" as yours. I'm practicing though, I'll figure it out soon.

what do you mean by edges? which edges?

1) take picture with hood closed
2) take picture with hood open
3) open both in photoshop (edit the one with the hood closed)
4) paste pic of hood closed on top
5) eraser tool 25% opacity at very soft (i do 0) set size to about 1/4 of hood
6) start erasing from the middle and work your way out. go over the middle a couple times to make it more transparent

Yes, the GTspec is much flatter and has a better arch to it. Even having it raise almost to the top it still clears the hood. Installing it is a PITA because it barely fits into the brackets and is slithly short so you have to get creative to get the bolts in. The result is very stiff! I has happy with the NRG bar but I bought this one because I thought it looked nicer...I was really suprised when I felt how much of a difference it made. I'm not looking forward to removing it for any engine work....not gunna be fun

but wont the brackets stay there? youll just have to remove the bar itself, which shouldnt be too hard.

^the hard part was getting the bolt in that connects the bar to the bracket

I mean the edges where the transparency ends, mine always seems to be a harsh transition. Step 5 was where I went wrong, my opacity was set at 100%

Cal you are the man!! I had worked on this photo for a couple of hours with no luck. Just did this quickly in a few of mins.
