IMO, waste of money. That lens is perfectly fine for a starter. From what I hear, it will take you alot of experience until you max out the perfomance on the starter lens.
By the way,I have some good websites about lenses if your interested.

Wow, I take it back. Can't go wrong with that, as long as it does what its suppose to do.
Cal, most lenses I see usually start no less than 250, so I assumed you were going for something that expensive.
Can't wait till I see one in the mail, with Henry on its ship destination
