My Heart Hurts.
take your parts off your car ASAP, they will have a regional tow truck pick up the car and take it to an insurance holding yard for your area. They want your parts on there to make money, they will be stripped and then resold or recycled stock or not.
They cannot claim ownership of the parts if they do not specifically claim them in the value of the car.
You really want to do this ASAP because you run the risk of them sending a tow-truck "prematurely" and once they have it, good luck!
I've personally had to do this, twice!
Also sorry about your car, it amazingly looks well preserved from the A-pillars back. The front wheels look good, but probably have metal fatique or are warped and so I personally wouldnt risk selling the front wheels unless they sold with a waiver of liability.

man.. no clue who you can sue.. because doesn't your insurance forms/cards/invoice state your limit? I have a 300k limit on my policy.
Best of luck.

it has nothing to do with my limits - i also have 100/300k policy but the broker put HER stated value of my car at 15k instead of what it was worth (even blue book states higher value than 15k.. i believe it was around 22k) the broad never even looked at my car once.. never asked me for any information including moonroof/spoiler/bose/rims.. etc all she wanted was mileage and the vin#.. even though i mentioned all my after market parts and asked her specifically to add special insurance because it was a showcar and she even told me that AIG doesnt offer special mod insurance (even though come to find out when i spoke with the claims rep at AIG that they do.. its just up to 5k more.. but i would have did that in a heart beat).. believe me i would have no problem paying the difference on a policy that covered all my modifications.
i had nothing stating the value of my car was 15k - until i got the paperwork from AGI a week after this all happened...
the only reason i have a stated value in the first place is because she put me on a business policy when i should have a personal policy.

not that im aware of.. but she just told me to sign it because they were closing.. she never read it out for me.. but she was very pushy..
i really dont recall there being numbers on it though - only what they sent me after everything happened.
yeah that might be one of those "life lessons". NEVER let anyone rush you in to signing anything - if they arn't willing to stay an extra 15 minutes for you to read, ask questions, and understand what you are signing they have no business doing business with people.
FYI regarding taking off the parts of the vehicle...I've totalled my car twice with 2 different insurance companies and both times I had aftermarket parts (stereo system, intake, strut bars, remote start security system, rims, etc.) that I removed from the vehicle before letting them take the car and was able to take off all except my coilovers, both times, just because there wasn't enough time before they picked up the car. The insurance companies never gave me a problem nor said a word about it. As a matter of fact, the first totalled vehicle, I asked the insurance company if i could take the parts off since it wasn't covered in the value appraised and they said take what you want off the vehicle as long as you replace it with something at the least the stock parts. And for that reason, I didn't even ask with the second car and just removed the parts before they came to pick it up and still never heard a complaint or anything from them. As far as I know, unless you get the additional Mod insurance and you didn't have them put the mods on the policy, they are quoting the value of your car at stock value which means that if they were to take your vehicle it needs only to have the stock parts on it...
UPDATE:
they gave in and let me keep my car.. they said it was the least they could do with the cards ive been dealt with this whole situation.. sooooo
MY STUFF WILL BE FOR SALE VERY SOON.. now i just have to find time to take everything off.

G-Girl Recovery....!
Glad to hear you're on a recovery path Sam. What's the game plan since
you have your car, sell everything and start over? How about another G
and install the aftermarket pieces and sell everything else? Good Luck with
whatever you decide to do!
