thats crappy. if they're not letting you swap out parts, then they should reimburse you for the full value of the parts you have on it.

Time to fight this b.s. That is the most dumb stuff I have heard, I mean what are they going to do with it anyways.

i went to a attorneys office - she said i have a case but its more of a he said/she said case.. the only reason i didnt file anything that day is because she wanted a 5500 dollar retainer fee. i would do it in a heartbeat but i really cant afford it right now.

here are some pictures i took yesterday.. ughhh i feel like its in a body bag - everything is so real now

If they are not going to allow you to take those parts off the car and replace them with the original parts that were on the car when you got it insured. I would make sure to have plenty of copies of your receipts for your files and then send them copies as well for the upgraded parts. If they will not allow you to take them off then they can pay you for them!

Also, is the car still at your house?...

If so then who the hell are they to tell you what you can do with YOUR PROPERTY on YOUR PROPERTY.

Very good point, but if they know about them then I guess they might give her less for the car if they feel they are getting cheated. I hate insurance Co. after dealing with them after someone hit me. I am still having back problems 3 years later and they could care less. Ugh

How can they possibly feel "cheated" when they insured the car in a "stock" state and they are only giving her value of the car in that stock state?

The ins. co. is not adjusting her payout based on the car with mods installed so IMO they can go get bent.

Heck.... "Hire" someone to put the car up on blocks and strip it... How long has it been sitting outside for now covered? Any potential "thief" would surely be aware of it now.

i already sent them all the receipts and the adjuster evan appraised my car at 45k but it doesnt matter because my broker only stated the value at 15k so thats all they have to pay out and they wont raise the limit now that somethings happened.

yes - the car is still at my house.. im taking my time.. and she hates it - she wants this claim settled already. also im pretty sure they wont give me the check until they get my car.

Does it mention anywhere on their paperwork that you can't take off anything from the car as far as aftermarket stuff goes?

Insurance Con....!

Hell yes Sam, they're giving you $15K for your car....give them a $15K car!
Swap out as many parts as you can, my guess is that if you don't they'll be
selling all those aftermarket parts on ebay. Why else would they be telling
you that you can't buy the car back, they want it as is for there own gain!
Gary
