^I'm almost positive you'll need an aftermarket radiator to do so and it invovles welding AN fittings (and welding coolant pipes too)

Here are my modified coolant pipes.

Ahh. Well thats one reason to go with a new rad.

So all you did was weld shut the sectionss that were used by the bypass line? So the extra set was just sort of like a back up incase you wanted to go back or messed up.

Any issues with deleting that bypass line? or all is good?

Yes the parts that are connected to the bypass hose were welded shut. Also an unneeded bracket was chopped off. I needed an extra set of pipes because otherwise I would have had downtime on my car while the pipes were being welded and chromed.

No issues with deleting the bypass line, it just takes longer to bleed the coolant system with the line removed.

there's a good amount of slask in the harnesses. You may need to cut some of the wrap and redo it but you should be able to hide a lot of clutter. I can help you out with it sometime.

To do it like Lou's and Alf's, you need to use an aftermarket radiator. A fitting is welded to the radiator and a fitting is welded to the driver side coolant pipe, and the passenger side coolant pipe is welded closed.

Thanks for the pics Lou & Marcus.

I'll probably do it Marcus' way when I get to that point.

I just tucked the passenger and driver loom today (i'll tackle that passenger alternator cable tomorrow or something)

That setup still has AN fittings welded Chris. As long as you have the coolant lines and your radiator hasn't been installed yet its not hard to do.

Samco now makes silicone pipe caps which will outlast the car. They might not look as clean but it is a much easier mod than welding.

The caps are hard to find but they are out there.

to do the bypass coolant line mod is not cheap... with radiator, welding, fan shroud, spal fans, various hoses and fittings, chroming and polishing and scheduling time and labor i'm in it about $1500... give or take.. more giving though...
