High quality photo of the manifold. I promise I'll be using my DSLR for updates!

Little update: I got the car back from Auto Explosion and threw the wheels and tires on to see how they would fit.

And...

I love it.

I have a few more things to do on the motor and I'll be ready to throw it back in the car. Too bad I'll be out of town on business starting Sunday....and I won't be back until the second week of July.

JBF - great project! I love the FDs and have always toyed with the idea of picking one up and dropping an LS based engine in it. The ls2 is only 50 lbs heavier than its 1.3 liter engine, and that can be fixed with relocating the batery to the trunk.

Did you consider doing the swap? If so, why did you decide against it?

I was talking to a guy who was selling a 93 in crappy condition and that would have been perfect since I wanted to add a Burnout kit. But I was afraid of getting into a money pit. It's between that and a SC 370z with Amuze bodykit for me next, and although I think that the Z's modern features would make me happy, I'm afraid that I will be disappointed with its curb weight and it sucks to go into it knowing of their overheating problems...

I'll be abroad for 1 1/2 yrs though for work so got lots of time to ponder and lurk the370z and norotors.com lol :/

Thanks!

I like rotary engines. I honestly don't think the FD is an FD any more once you put pistons in it. Would I consider later in the future? Probably not. I enjoy the uniqueness of the rotary. Even though they are really finnicky and problematic.

I've been on the road so much for work that I haven't been able to do much at all. Hopefully, I can take some vacation next week and get this thing finished. I have everything I need. Just no time to throw it all together

Tell me about it. I haven't had time to do anything, actually. The last time I had a full weekend at home was the first weekend of April.
