Light came on again. Gonna take it to the dealership next week. Don't understand what could be wrong.

did I get ripped off

I had this problem months ago and took it to the dealership who said the air bag module needed replacing and quoted me $1,600 to fix it! (plus charged me $100 just to diagnose) I declined. I'm going to try this when I get home. Does this mean that the dealer was just straight trying to rip me off?

I have fixed the flashing light by the method that had been mentioned. It works but after a start or two, it always returns. There must be a problem. I really don't know which dealer to take the car to not to be ripped too much.

Just got it fixed today. The left side airbag module went bad, so they replaced it under 6yr/70k mi. warranty.

Thanks. Is the airbag module covered under the drivetrain warranty or is that an extended warranty you are talking about? Do I need to make an appointment for the replacement?

Airbag moduleis covered under the drivetrain warranty which is 6yr/70k. Appointment or not depended on your local dealership.

I've dropped off the car yesterday morning and took a loaner, then picked it up today. They didn't have the part in stock so it took an extra day.
