Agreed, The stock airbox is already a very good heatshield for the intake. Just throw a K&N drop in with a stillen Z-tube and youll have a really good set up going.

You have a vq35de, and the mrev your referring to is an aftermarket upgraded lower plenum i believe. So no stock car comes with a MREV. The only models that come with a VQ35DE REVUP engine is the 05-06 Manual transmission models. So revup is just the type of engine 05-06 MT recieved

Ty. It's all starting to clear up for me. Not much bolt on after market for my 2008 5at from what I can see. Exhaust is about it and that isn't much bang for the buck imho. Dropped in some K & N air filters, whoopy. Been told intake bolt ons are almost no bag for the buck, since the stock is duel and pretty good to begin with.

Still love my car.

Both work just fine to me. You'll get a nice deep throttle tone with the K&N filter (which is what I have on now). I kept the stock intake ducts from grille to channel air to it, and added a heat shield, since the motor gets hot.

Just finished installing the Iso Thermal MREV2 and 5/16" spacer with a Stillen intake tube on my 06 6mt. The air box is stock with a stock filter as recommended by Hydrazine.

On the first 7000rpm 2-3 shift the traction control kicked in! After turning TCS off it would consistently chirp the tires on those 7000rpm 2-3 shifts. The outside air temp was 93°. I could chirp that shift before the mods, but not with the temp that high. Part of that must be the iso thermal and coolant control.

I ordered the swaybars at the same time, but they are on back order.

I do, and I did notice a nice increase in power...especially in the 5,900rpm to 6,200rpm range! It was an accident when I bought it used off a friend with a 350z, but from what I hear, the 5/16" got a little better results on a dyno run.

A little more top end with a little less midrange.
