Is it really worth it? If you live in Houston, what dealerships do not care about mods, as I usually goto Southwest Infiniti as that is where I bought the car.

Thanks.

I haven't done the mod yet (on this car) and I'm trading my Coupe anyway, but I couldn't decide in my mind whether it was worth the time and expense so I shelved the idea. At the time I was thinking of it, there was some debate as to its validity, and risk.
Having read about all the happy members who have done the mod, I now wouldn't hesitate to do it myself.
I did discuss it with my dealer tho. who agreed with the mod and would have assisted with the install.

He's always had an issue with being called gsedanman, since he drives a coupe. So, he's now going to go back to a sedan, but because of psychological childhood (family-of-origin) issues, etc., he'll likely end up with a 'M'! This would answer his coupe-sedan dichotomy, and since the G-M issue isn't as significant (at least at this stage), the associated guilt issues are attenuated by the likelyhood that he'd stay on here.

Make sense?

Only Gord could have put it quite that way. Kudos on your eloquence, bro

Bunnone, I've had G's now for nearly 3 yrs. It's been great, but it's time for a change. This will prolly happen early next year.
Not a big change mind you,-- the M I'm thinking of is very similar to the G-Sedan that started it all for me (and many of us). It'll have a few more toys on it and more power (V-8) and I'm looking forward to it very much.

I've got fond memories of both G's and have learned so much from everyone while sharing them with all of you.
I'm hoping the M lives up to the Infiniti name as the G's have.

I'm not going anywhere, BTW, so I can still share your G's with you, as well as my M with you.

Sorry to go so far off topic (not setting a good example am I) but bunnone's has been around for a long time, and deserves an explanation.

With the automatic it's a little more tricky, unless you have an impact wrench available.
Apparantly there is a small access cover by the ring gear (not sure if it's on the starter side or other side), that when removed will allow a locking bar to be used to engage the ring gear to stop its' rotation.

What idea did you have?
I use our lug nuts socket wrench from our stock (just like the L shape with a recess on the head) its perfect to stop the ring gear plate from rotating.
