Great thanks for the info! My skills are also lacking in the searching area as i was also not able to find the post

Looks like ill be buying the teins, its a real shame topsecret doesn't have more competitive pricing as i would much rather just buy those, just not at that insane price.

i asked them for a refund - Lori said that she'll send me a check, since their merchant service only allows credit-backs for a certain period of time. that's what i call great service.

but fear not - i have spent that money elsewhere already. bought:

- Phillips Ultinon 6000k D2R for HIDs
- PIAA Super Plasma GT-X 4200k/5000k H4 for Fogs

Ok, put in some Tein Hood Dampers; $100 from eBay. I figure I will get my money back on the TS ones, now.

The TEIN's work great, as long as you drill the hole in the right spot. Also, I had my car jacked up when I did it, so it is much easier to get to the hole from the wheel well when the wheel is hanging down!

TS just lost a sale!

Ok, here is some pics of my hood struts; they are the 350Z ones, I modified the car to fit them, by drilling different mounting holes. As I said, it is much, much easier to put the bolts in if the car is jacked up so the wheels are hanging.

The picture is not very clear, but you can see about where the struts are. I might paint them black, since I don't really like the green color, but I am not sure how well paint will adhere to them

Dave

Edit: added close in pics of the hood struts

No problems with paint adhesion? Did you use any primer, or just spray paint, and did you do anything special (roughd them up with sandpaper, etc...)?

with the TEIN hood shocks, can you open your hood to what ever level you want and it stays?

Well, not quite. You can open it to a variety of levels near the top, but if it is less than about 2/3rds open, it will fall back closed

There was some talk a while back about the struts stressing our aluminum hoods too much. Do you think it's a concern at all?
