how much is too much, eh?... are the hoods bending or deforming? - then that's too much. if not - that's all good. if one is careful enough to list the hood by hand high enough, i doubt there will be any damage to the hood. the TEIN hood shocks take over when the hood is 2/3 of way up - and the hood looks like it sits close to vertical, once it's open. i don't see how there could be any structural damage once the hood is open.

Just FYI we do have these in stock now, but only one of each type. One type is for G35s with stock hoods and one is for cars with carbon fiber or fiberglass hoods.

hm.

http://www.driftfactory.com/product_...oducts_id=1054

$346.75

i take it you guys (driftfactory) are referring to CF or FG hoods for the coupes, not the stillen performance hood that they require for their superchargers?

in any case, how does one order one type of damper or the other, and what's the difference in the two types?...

The only difference is in the amount of weight that they are able to hold up. The light weight dampers are lighter so that they will not lift the hood as fast. However, after talking to Top Secret about this it appears that the normal hood dampers can be used for lightweight as well but not the other way around. It also seems as though TS only brought in the normal dampers and that is what we have in stock. I assume this was done because they would work for either. I can still special order the light weight dampers but you should let me know the weight of your hood if you want those as many aftermarket hoods for the G35 weight just as much as the stock hood.

Hit up member sundeviljay for NRG chrome or cf dampers. Prices are a lot cheaper than TS. About $120-$150.

why go out and spend 340+ in top secret hood dampers or even nrg when the Tein flex for the 350z fits perfectly on the g35 coupe and they are only 100 bucks?
