Top Secret Hood Dampers installed

Took 3 months, but I finally got my Top Secret Hood Dampers. I thought about getting the MUCH cheaper Tein's, painting and modding them to fit, but there was a group buy so I figured I'd spend extra for something designed specifically for the G35 and looks good stock. Install was very easy except I did have to make a small cut in the battery cover where it covers a nut, but it's not really noticeable with a small cut.

Overall, they work really well and look really good (matches the Brembo's ), only downside is that it's not cheap, but you're almost guaranteed to be one of the few with it.

Wow, they look awesome! Top Secret is my favorite Japanese Tuner, their widebody Supra and the videos of the owner doing 200+ and get'n arrested in England have made them legendary.

Question:
Why didn't you put the stickers on? Rice?

Congrats, Welcome to the club. Now you just need their hood to go with them.

I still have the stickers, but I decided not to put them on for a couple of reasons:

1. lazy
2. the only branding I have on the car is Nismo (rims and license plate frame) and since this is under the hood, I didn't care much to add the stickers

awesome! i looked at TEIN dampers a while ago, was quoted $100 for pair. or was it apiece?

anyways, what was involved in mounting them? any drilling? any major work, like disassembly? can you take close-up macro pics of the mounting points, pretty please with a cherry on top?

and last but not least - where did you buy them from? - linky?

oh oh oh! and will this fit a sedan? whew.

/edit just found it here for $350

The Tein's are ALOT cheaper, I think it's ~$100 pair. Do a search, someone modded them to install on the G35 (Tein doesn't make a set that for the G35). But I do recall it involved a bunch of cutting. The Top Secret ones are expensive, but made specifically for the G35 so install was really easy. Just had to cut a small notch where the battery cover piece covered a mounting hole. No drilling. Got them from BulletProofAutomotive. Here's some closeups:

xswl0931, thank you so much for posting these pictures! you know, this forum never stops to amaze me.

so, let me get this straight - the top part of the damper is mounted to the hood bracket - i can see that pretty clearly. the bottom part is mounted to an existing hole in the fender (or nearby) - but how is it mounted, exactly? do you have to screw it in? how does it reuse that whole?

thanks again, buddy. you're about to make me $350 poorer.

Very Nice!!

Would this damper work on a carbon hood,
due to it being more lighter?????
