Your so wrong. You can order it new from Riverside Infiniti for about 40-50 bucks. How do I know? Ive called them to verify few months ago.

Testing this MOD

Here is an article that should be a pre-requiasite before doing this MOD (and many other "intake" mods that I have seen floating around. The article provides a. introduction to why nissan changed designs.

Butt dyno is great but was there actually a difference? Has anyone actually taken the time to measure the differences.

the ebay link he posted is Riverside Infiniti... and if they quoted you 40-50 than I got totally ripped off 'cause they charged me $80. Are you sure that’s the price they quoted you for the revup back-half airbox?

not yet - but when I'm done with current projects I intend to do various testing to determine difference in intake temps OEM vs Stillen and gains from OEM vs Stillen and pre-06 vs 06+.

one thing I did notice was back then before Riverside started doing nothing but internet sales their prices were alot less, maybe now they raised the prices.

Well, the revup airbox and Stillen Z tube arrived from Riverside today. The guy I spoke to over the phone said I would not need to reset the ECU as long as I did not disconnect the mass airflow sensor when I switched out the parts. His exact words were "Don't touch anything electrical"... So, is this correct advice?

BTW, I also ordered the clear "bump" side marker lights and popped those babies on tonight. They look great!

I would disconnect the negative terminal from the battery just in case, but yes, if you don't remove the MAF, the ECU should not throw a code after the install.

Do I disconnect the neg terminal for 24 hours to reset the ECU or only during install of the new box/intake?

You guys are severly overthinking this. You can unplug the maf sensor connector w/o problems. It's the TPS sensor on the throttle body you don't want to unplug.

Just take the stuff off, replace it and drive.

Got the revup box and Stillen Z tube installed last night. The only tricky part was routing the air tube to the underside of the Z tube as opposed to the top of the OEM tube... I hope it isn't pinched now.

Seems to run great though! Slightly throatier idle as well.

FWIW… I haven’t had time to do any data logging, but I did run the OEM air box for a few days after the car got out of body shop and a 100 mile commute yesterday… I put the Stillen box on (for other reasons)… honestly I don’t think I will be going back to OEM.

I don’t doubt that temps will be moderately lower with the OEM box, but my butt dyno definitely likes the feel of the Stillen better. I suspect it’s the airflow that helps… low to mid range is much improved with Stillen. BTW, I’m now using a JWT filter with Stillen heat shield (I cant really tell the diff between JWT and Stillen filter)… the only reason I am running JWT is I haven’t had time to clean the Stillen filter after recent body work (it got real dusty/dirty and needs to be cleaned and re-oiled) + I’ve always wanted to try the JWT (never have until now).

I will still do a series of tests (later when I have time)… but I don’t plan to permanently use the OEM box - which is too bad, because the OEM fitment is much better and it actually looks better with my cover and snorkel because they are painted the same color (Stillen heat shield is pained a little different).

I’m not stating this to start a debate… its simply my opinion based on recent driving with both – take it or leave it, just don’t debate it… I’ll have “data facts” later, but regardless what they are I’m going to run the Stillen.
