I'm gonna drop my JL 10W3v2. I don't need too much thump, and the v2 is a hella sub.

10W6 v2 is awesome.

I don't know the size of the coupe box, but the sedan box is .89, which is actually smaller than my current 1 cu ft box for my 10w3v2.

I think I know the car that you are speaking of with the sloppy bass. I asked him a number of questions about his settings and installation, he did not have any answers. He did not know the following: what is the x-over set to, is the infersonic filter on, is the bass Q on, if so then what is the q set to, is the svc on the radio on, are the gains set properly, is the bass on the radio @ zero, is the woofer/amp in phase, what type of stepdown converter did you use, where did you tap into signal, is either voice coil blown, what is the net ohm load at the amp?????

If one of the following is not troubleshooted and properly fixed/tuned then the result could sound like shoes in a dryer, thump...clump.. thud. The W3 is my favorite sub in this box, nice smooth deep bass. IMO

Forgot to mention, the box is AWESOME!
4080 do you think the w6 might be a little too much for the box?

No, the W6 will work great. The W6 actually requires less air space than the other JL woofers.

im leaning toward 4080's box and the JL 10W6V2. Seems to be a winning combo that most people are happy with.

if we were to get the w3, would it be better to get the w3 or the w3v2?.. also the w3v2d4? I want to get the w6v2 but the price is almost double that of the w3v2.. Since 4080 recommends the w3 for his box, which w3 would you recommend more? w3 or w3v2?
