Ahh I didn't know there was an adjustment there, figured it was just done at the tie rod ends. I might just get the car up in the air and do it myself then.

If the toe is good as aligned, slightly moving the U joint can't hurt anything.

That looks great, I think I'm going to do my entire interior in that stuff, but in more of a gunmetal aluminum finish. If there's a way to get the wheel trim, I think CF would look amazing on that.

Got my HKS rep resonators swapped out for the magnaflow 11386 X pipe Friday night and proceeded to drive 400 miles over the weekend. If I had to use one word to explain what it did, I would use "smooth".

It's amazing how much of a difference one part can make to the character of the car. It's downright refined now, no more pausing conversations on hills and normal accelerations. Still screams like an F1 car at 4000+ RPM and WOT though! But at anything less than that, it's muted, meaning I can drive it like it was meant to around town and not worry about getting pulled over or getting flipped off going the speed limit.

The best part though is on the highway - no more buzzing in the interior in 6th gear, in fact I can FLOOR IT in 6th going 85 and it's just a nice VQ whine all the way up to 100, but stop accelerating and there's nothing but a nice smooth hum to remind you what you're driving. If anybody has an exhaust they think is too loud for a daily, I can't recommend this part enough - there's a magnaflow sticker going on my side window now!

Finally got some time to put some work in. I replaced the diaphragm spring on my ATS clutch, new carbon disks as well. I also mounted the exhaust manifolds and the turbo hot side on. Waiting on few more parts and motor should be ready to go back in. I also got the manifolds, and down pipes wrapped to keep heat away from the fuel lines

Had a bit of work done, thought I had a bad wheel bearing or stuck caliper.

Dropped it of at my local Nissan dealership. Bad caliper, had the rear brakes redone, fluids flushed and rear diff fluid changed. My battery also dropped dead so went ahead and had it replaced as well.

Road noise & "hot" smell from the passenger rear wheel is gone.

Also my car coasts a bit better. My mileage is normally 19+ and my last 2 tanks were mid 16's. I figured it was just evaporation from not driving it much in the snow belt.

Finally took my hood off the wall in my garage and had it painted to match.

Next is the bumper.

I know, I know; waiting for it to warm up a tad and also I need to order some hood pins.

Looking into AeroCatch, but man do I not want to mess with all that... Plus the latches taking away that clean look.

But, we all know what can and has happened... I just do not trust that steel bar set in fiberglass. Plus it is such a B***H to get it to latch.

Anyways, here is the bumper I FINALLY pulled the trigger on. Everyone has the KZ, wanted to be somewhat different. Have to wait 2 weeks for it to get molded and what not. Poly of course.

Should go well with the K2 sides I have already and let that intercooler breath.

Well, not today but Friday I pulled the exhaust off to weld in a new bung for the Innovate wideband. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and bought a new wbo2 sensor since my last one was installed with a short o2 bung (innovate's is 1" tall) and the sensor was mounted at just a hair over 3 o'clock, allowing condensation to collect on it. I installed the new 1" tall bung at 1 o'clock on the pipe and it barely protrudes from the inside. Should be much better.

Also discovered a MAJOR restriction in my exhaust, even more than I thought. The flange I built the rear section from had a slightly smaller than 2.25" ID, into a smashed flat on one side 2.25" diameter 16" long section that I did know about. Never realized the flange was that small ID though. So it was 2.5" midpipe..jammed thru small flange, into 2.25" smashed pipe, back into 2.5" to the end. Good for lowend torque but killing power and revs with that backpressure.

So I rebuilt it.. now is smooth 2.5" all the way from the mid pipe to the end, and the wideband now mounted and working well.

Went out tonight and made several datalog pulls for UpRev and Seymore4 to finish my etune with. This car is about to get sooo much better. No more stinky rich fumes, better mpg, and Mo Powah coming soon.

Stay Tuned

Getting jiggy
