All of this worry is why I just went with Centric Premium Blanks for $53 bucks each for my Brembo calipers. Should last until my calipers need rebuilding hopefully in many years. I'm not afraid to beat on them either because I know they'll always do their job.

[QUOTE=g356sp;7147600}
if your rotors are slotted but don't have a 'left' and 'right' such that the slots are facing the same direction on both sides of the car, then they are probably just for show.

Oooo, oooo mine are. So that's why they were labeled as to which side the ought to be installed on.

On a slightly related side note, when people complain about pad rollback, its typically a problem with worn suspension components or wheel bearings (usually found on older cars), not a problem with the brakes. Installing rollback springs in your calipers is a band-aid for unrelated suspension issues.[/QUOTE]

...or VDC, regarding the rears. I could see getting zero-drag calipers or even a device like the one below to keep the pads just a hair off the rotor. When I push the car out of the garage the pads rubbing against the rotor are ever so slightly audible which drives me nutz cause I know that's a. adding to the brake dust on my clean-*** wheels b. prematurely wearing down my pads & 3. reducing my mpg's and acceleration.

Disc brake caliper with piston roll-back device

AbstractDisc brake calipers with a piston roll-back device capable of allowing accurate and repeatable roll-back of pistons and which are easy to construct and assemble are provided.

@onevq - Don't worry, that little contact between the pads/rotors won't increase dust, drag, or performance by any noticeable margin. It's only when there is significant pressure on the pads/rotors that this will occur. Either way, thanks for posting that, very interesting if not WAY too complicated. Though undoubtedly less reliable in terms of amount of rollback, a much easier option is to tune the durometer of the pressure/dust seals for each piston size, and machine the caliper such that the seals naturally want to pull back once pressure is released. That's also a pretty foolproof method.. as opposed to installing 6 different seals, and spring, two trap doors and a half a red herring per piston bore.

@CSW - I sprang for the Centric/StopTech slotted at ~ $80/per because it makes me a better, more interesting, well rounded, sexually attractive person who is better than you in every way shape and form.

I used silicone spray last year... and it wore out before the trip to the dragon !!! Heard it creak all trip lol. but to the tune to the Motordyne.

Called Tony @ Motordyne Engineering today to ask about the drone at 2400 Rpm... and he confirmed on auto G's there is always drone. FFS!?! Well whatever I still really like how it sounds, just a major let down knowing it's not truly a drone free exhaust.

Oh dear. This is not good news for the future when my OEM exhaust finally bites the dust.

Do you have it paired with ART? I recently acquired a TDX2 paired with berk HFC and man I love how it sounds, no drone no rattle but mine is a rev - up.

Its paired with ART V3.

You say you have a manual, which isn't relevant to my "autos only" comment lol.

The patent for the V3's was in 2015, so probably 3 years.

When the time comes, just give me a shout.... still have mine in my shed.

Back on topic..... I removed the tag from my G, and the insurance. If there's no major problems with my 280 the G will be up for sale

I understand where you're coming from with that and in an ideal world I'd love to keep them both.
But most likely I'll be sticking with the 280. It feels great, tons of character and the 5 speed is a much more thrilling drive compared to the auto (and much heavier) G.
