OCTOBER SPECIAL: SPL Front Camber Arms + Install
Hey all,
Due to popular demand from both Zs and Gs, i decided to do a little research on these front camber arms.
First off, here's the product description on their site:
SPL front multilink
SPL pro front upper arms are fabricated from chromoly tubing (1.125" diameter 4130 alloy) for strength and lightweight. The frame design is triangulated for maximum strength. All welds are tig welded and post-weld heat normalized. The frame is then chrome plated for finish and corrosion resistance. These design and construction features give us the strongest, race quality frame for our upper arm
Our camber adjustment mechanism is unique. Most aftermarket arms use sliding plates that are locked in position using friction from the clamping action of 4 small bolts. If these bolts come loose or shear, the arms will be free to slide back and forth which can cause a catastrophic change in camber. Unlike these sliding plates, our threaded double adjuster will not suddenly change camber even if the jam nuts work loose. Our threaded adjuster offers over 1.5" of adjustment range (equivalent to over 5 degrees of camber). A CNC machined aluminum wrench is even included to allow for easy adjustment on an alignment rack. We also provide a unique caster adjustment feature that provides +/- 1 degree of caster adjustment that can be set independently of camber.
And to round it off, we use all motorsports quality rod ends from QA1 for optimum suspension feedback and long operating life. On the inside pivot points we use QA1 Endura 2000 series chromoly rod ends with QA1's unique injection molded teflon/kevlar lining. For the ball joint end we use a QA1 chromoly 2-piece rod end with teflon lining and a unique low-profile design for maximum clearance . All these rod ends are rated for over 15,000lbs of load each, and their lining provides self-lubricating and noise-free operation. All rod ends are US standard dimension 5/8" rod ends, and not specialty or custom bearings, which guarantees long term serviceability with many options for off-the-shelf replacements.
Adjustment specs
Camber adjustment for street-spec approx. -2deg to +1deg from stock arm (note: arm will adjust to +3deg but will require modifications to fender well)
Caster adjustment +/- 1 deg from stock arm

Now for my own personal input:
I've researched and tested other front camber options out there including:
350EVO, CUSCO, SPC, STILLEN, and even the old Performance Nissan Front Camber arms.
On paper, the SPL camber arms measure up to these other brands VERY well.
When comparing these vs the other brands, there are a few KEY factors to look at: Affordability, Camber Adjustment, Quality.
I'll list how the SPL front camber arms compare to the other brands below:
vs 350EVO:
Affordability- 350EVO retail for $850 so you save with the SPL
Camber Adjustment- less negative adjustment, same amount of positive
Quality- comparable, i'd say they're neck and neck
vs CUSCO:
Affordability: CUSCO's are usually about 200 dollars cheaper than the SPL
Camber Adjustment- CUSCO offers a little more negative, SPL offers 1 whole degree of positive
Quality- comparable, SPL being slighly more sturdy
vs SPC:
Affordability: about the same price for both
Camber Adjustment = about the same
Quality- this is where they are different. SPL is MUCH more sturdy and there isn't that dreaded worry of error codes going off.
Another thing to note is that compared to all of the above which use a sliding mechanism to adjust camber, the SPL is threaded.
For those of you that track, or adjust camber often, that is also a feature you should consider.

How much are the arms alone? I don't think I can afford the install right now, but I've been looking into the SPL's for a while now.
You said in one place that the SPL's offer one whole degree of positive camber adjustment and in another place that they offer the same amount of adjustment as the SPC arms - did you mean the same as the SPC arms without the spacers?
I guess my question to you is, as far as Camber Adjustment goes, is it worth changing from my SPC arms (without the spacers, so I only have one degree of positive adjustment) to the SPL arms? Keep in mind that I'm not throwing any error codes since I don't have those spacers installed.
