03-08 - California Speedway - Food Voting

admins/mods - please keep this thread in the socal section since it only belongs to the socal folks. Thank you.

Please ONLY vote if you're planning to make it out to race or spectate with us. Thank you.

There will be 2 options:
1. We organize a BBQ with a few people donating for the cost of the meat. I can help with funds on this. And the rest that are joining us bring some other stuff like sodas, water, chips etc. etc...

2.

I called the place and asked about catering/delivery and pricing… he has a feast special (usually feeds way more than we need, I think 15-18) for $128, included chicken, ribs, tri tip, sausage, all sides… I told him we probably won’t have more than 10 people – he suggested 4 slabs of ribs, three sides (possibly tri tip?) for $95 (feeds 10)… he will deliver it to us at the race track.

Are you guys interested?
Figure $10-$13 or so per person if we have 10 people?

Personally I'd go with the caterer since Mike mentioned the caterer only needs 1 day notice for that.

The poll ends on Friday night, Feb. 29th.

I vote for the caterer. It's much easier and all that really leaves us to do is supply some drinks.

we may need to figure out a way to collect funds ahead of time... if we cater we are committed to whatever we order on Fri... if we ask for feast for 10 and 5 show, we are all paying double (with wasted food)... same if we BBQ

Should someone do PayPal collection?....

Yeah, that's a good idea bro. Money should be collected up front.

Caterer for sure. Looks to me like some people that aren't going just voted BBQ... voting ******

Anyhow, I would go off of what the majority of the people state (votes can easily be skewed).

PS. I accidentally voted for BBQ

.

I can handle the money collection for the caterer. If that's ok with everyone. Granted, this would only be for the caterer. If we end up having the BBQ, I do not want to be one of the ones that's left with alot of meat (if it gets cancelled again).

I set the deadline for Friday since I'm sure if we end up BBQ'ing, people will need a few days to either try to get Lawrence to prep the meat and to give him a proper headcount.

You're right about having a few extra names in there and by Saturday morning we will have a proper count for that.

there's a few extra votes that don't count. I don't recall him ever posting in the CS thread I'll PM him in a lil while.

Is there any way you can remove the votes that are accidental or people that don't even live near socal? lol

And with your vote and Mike's, the Caterer vote should win!

How do you know I'm voting caterer?...

J/K... it the other thread I posted that it looks like poll is skewed.

Let’s go with caterer... did you read the post from last night about the food? I suggest you PM each of us on the sign up list and give us your PayPal address... If everyone on the list goes we should be good with $10 ea - however I forgot about a tip for the guy (especially since he's willing to deliver) - maybe we should make it $12, which should give him a decent tip.

Also, we need to square away drinks.
