I'd have to agree with Robby. It's totally cool to have another kind of meet, the bowling and stuff. Shiet, we did that with the BBQ meets, it was more of a hanging out thing. But if we have meets on a set date specifically for people to hang out, see what new things are done to our cars, etc, then those days should not change and those meets should be held.

If anything, change the meet to a different day and have it once a month or something. You just cant keep changing things around and expecting people to know. Look at the 626 meet, that thing was fail. They talk about meets and such but they hardly have anything. When I went last time there was 10 people. I don't want to see this happen to the 818 meet.

 

I completely agree about it being changed in the first post and the thread title etc ... that makes it easier for everyone to see what is going on.

But on the contrary, how is, for example, going to the bowling alley NOT a meet? Let's take some of our previous meets as an example. We kick it in a parking lot for a bit, then head into Hooter's for several hours to "hang out" and grub, and then come back and go somewhere else. Or, we kick it in a parking lot, then all head to In-N-Out and hang inside/outside, chillin' and eating. Ok hopefully that stuck with you...

Now take last meet, at the bowling alley. HAD people decided to show up, we all could have kicked it inside, watching the game together, bowling together, eating together, TALKING together, and afterwards kick it outside by the cars. I don't see how that is ANY different? In fact it's the same thing that we always do, but more fun.

Look I don't know about you guys, but when it comes to the meets, who wants to sit around for 4 hours saying, "oh my exhaust is cool", "no MINE is" blah blah blah. It's fun chatting about cars for a bit, but I prefer actually hanging with you guys, eating and having a good time just kickin' it. Our cars are there, we can ALL go see them whenever we want and get our jollies off by talking about them. I'm sorry but I thought these meets were about community and friendship. Going bowling, watching sports games and eating together is everything "friends" would do with one another. So I'm sorry if you guys got butt hurt that it wasn't at the same spot. The only thing I'll agree with you guys upon is that it wasn't updated in the thread title or the first post. But it was talked about plenty of days ahead, so you can't win that battle (it was actually spoken about a week in advance, just finalized a couple days before hand). Next time I'm sure it will be better organized to your standards.

No the meet has been dying down honestly for the simple reason there has been a laker game I think the last 3 meets. I know there are alot of laker fans here so it's givin majority of the people aren't gonna show.

I guarantee as soon as the season is over the meet will go back to Being 25+

The last meet was pretty crazy I admit. Even thought we did it 3 days before and reposted it at least 5 times.

Sorry but where I'm from, friends dont battle son. That just put you at lower standards then everyone else. You guys put yourselves ahead of everyone else instead of thinking of others.
This meet is based on like 4 people that do what they want to do, not what other people want to do. Thats why this meet died.
Ya i understand you like to have fun, we all do, but this is a car meet brotha. We talk about CARS, not about kobe while throwing ***** at objects while sipping on beer. Thats hanging out, not a meet. I can go out with my friends and after go to the parking lot and sit and talk about cars, doesnt mean its a car meet.

I'm saying, make your hang outs in another thread and keep this one going before you guys turn this into the 626 meet. How sad bad does it look when the host of meet doesnt come to his own meet. Pretty lame if you ask me.

Sure, it's still a meet, but the purpose of this meet is to meet up at Sports Chalet and to talk about cars, whatnot, and even anything else...and yes, then we go to get food or something.

My point is that the last time, that didn't happen. If people met up at the normal spot and then went to go bowling, it's much more understandable.

These meets are about friendships and hanging out, but it's also about our cars. True, it is boring to talk about cars for 4 hrs, but some people, like the newbies to the meets, want to see what we have done to our cars and such.

That's EXACTLY what it is. It started with that one meet where the group got split into 2 or 3 and people got lost. Ever since then the Lakers have been more important. That's fine if people wanna watch the Lakers and kick it, cos our meet does take place at about the same time they play.

If this is the case, then let's not have a meet at the normal location till playoffs are done. We can have another thread for during the playoffs and those who want to join that meet can sign up for that, while this thread's title and status gets changed to "postponed".

You guys if 1,2,3,4 people don't show up to a meet don't freak the fvck out. So what if the hosts aren't at every meet, so what if sometime a few of us have another agenda, that's not stoping anyone else from still going and talking about CARS.
Also if you are just going to the meet to talk about cars then why even come to the meets. Noone even get new shiit most of the time maybe once every month plus. There only so much to talk about with your cars after I've seen a car 40 times. If you don't wanna hang out and make friends then why fuking bother...

You guys dont get it, the people that dont show up, are the people that others want to meet. If you dont show up, then most will be like "this is going to ghey and wont even show up at all." For me it's not just about cars, it is hanging out. The host doesn't have to be at the meets all the time, but should be. It's like having a party but not being there. It's more understandable with a meet that happens so often, but for one that happens once a few months, then the host should show up to all those.

My whole point is either have the meet and then go to a spot, or just dont have the meet till playoffs are over, and you can have a separate meet to hang out and watch the game.

It's fvcked to blow over a meet and from what I looked, I saw the last one starting to be planned on the 21st, when the meet was held on the 23rd.

This shouldn't create any drama, and I don't see why it's starting to. I originally asked if the meet will be held at the same location or if it will be like last time, that way OTHER people are informed ahead of time.

We can't have a mickey mouse meet. It needs organization. The host should determine what to do and make it be known. Simple.

The meet is @ sport chalet, as it has for the past 4+ months

This specifc meet has been going on for 8,9,10+ months, it's well established.
The host/s shouldn't HAVE to be there. So what if people go to meet somene and they're not there, go to the next one, simple as that.

Reguardless if there are 50 cars or 5 cars that show up. THAT is the meet. You guys are getting way to technical with this. Stressin over something so minut!
