Re: 1st Annual Florida G-out
I say relocate the event to Orlando. I also vote for a park with public grills and picnic tables along with plenty of shade and a good swimming area. I'd love to grill out hamburgers and hotdogs (or have the self proclaimed grill master pimpinpearl grill out for us).

Food, Beer, Swimming, picinic tables, shade, a large group of G35's and some "tame" music and I think we'll have a blast bringing the families.

Re: 1st Annual Florida G-out
Yeah, its gonna be a blast...we just need to figure out where

renting out a pavilion at any of these places might not be a bad idea...$3/person if 20ppl show...less if more. I went to the links Neff posted and none say anything about a deposit

im gonna copy some info from their websites.
Wekiwa Springs
PICNICKING
Picnic areas and shelters are provided in the spring area and the Sand Lake area. A playground is located in the ’sspring picnic area along with a volleyball court and horseshoe pit. There are picnic tables and grills located in the picnic area.

There are two pavilions that are available for groups, such as family outings and company picnics. Each pavilion holds up to 100 people. There is electricity, water and a double grill in each pavilion. Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance. Each pavilion rents for $60.00 per day. This fee does not include the entrance fee into the park. The park does close on busy days due to the lack of parking spaces. Reserving a pavilion does not guarantee your ’sparty entrance into the park if we close. The park will reopen throughout the day as people exit. Park closings usually occur between Memorial Day and Labor Day. For further information or to make reservations please call 407/884-2008.
I will call them tomorrow and see how bad parking actually is since this is our #1 concern.

Ikky Springs
Large Picnic Pavilion Fee - $40.00 per day. This pavilion seats 80 to 100 people and is located at the South
Take-Out. Please call the park to make reservations:
386-497-4690.

Small Picnic Pavilion Fee - $30.00 per day. There are two small pavilions available. Each pavilion seats 40 to 50 people and are located at the South Entrance. Please call the park to make reservations: 386-497-4690.

Canoeing Fee - $5.00 per person year around.
this seems to be the cheapest but they also mention closing the park due to parking

and another option is the place NikNala is talking about.

Re: 1st Annual Florida G-out
I've been checking this thread since the weekend and do check it all day long, while at work of course. hehehe Though the proposed event is a whole month away, there is still plenty of time to plan it out. I would definetly love to attend and meet other G drivers but have not committed to anything till it is written in stone!
I think we should move it to O-Town? Tampa G's, what about hooking up before the meet?

Re: 1st Annual Florida G-out
The sponser stuff talk.. at this time.. is not appropriate.

We'll get some good dudes together for the first annual.

As far as I'm concerned, the smaller the better.

We'll do it in Orlando, because Wess said so.

It can be somewhere else next year.

When, if, the Miami people get something together, I'll be there too.

Here is a link to the Wekiva Springs Park map:

http://www.floridastateparks.org/wek...KS-ParkMap.pdf

What if we rent both pavilions in the lower right corner?

Then all the parking is ours.

Re: 1st Annual Florida G-out
Thanks for the map and im gonna call them tomorrow but again i no longer "think" ur over estimating the people...i "know"...
"rent both pavilions"??? 200people???

we are going to get about 20-30 Gs at maybe 40-60people so one pavilion is plenty

This looks like the best option so far..it has volleyball and horse shoes for the adults...playground for the kiddies...close parking...springs for swimming and/or canoeing

Cost is will be $3 or so for the pavilion plus park admission fees...im sure u can all afford that and if not...dont come

Re: 1st Annual Florida G-out
wow, i like just refreshed the screen and dabomb posted....

i like the springs idea....and why is everything I say "self-proclaimed" Neff????? I talked to Infiniti and the guy said that any information about customers was not available to the public, but they would get back to me about them sending information (such as a flyer) in the mail to customers....
Maybe I should try calling the Nissan dealership that sponsers the Z Car Club of SOuth Florida, maybe they can tell me the person who started it all and I can get some ideas??

Re: 1st Annual Florida G-out
Pearl, because until you have the blue ribbon pinned to your chest I'm the grill master damnit! Also, my 300bhp is "self proclaimed" because it has not been proven, just like your grilling abilities. It's all in good fun geesh...

Also, when you guys say 20-30 people will be showing up, do you mean 20 or 30 families? If I go (can't comit w/o a day, time and place) I'll bring a total of 4 people. If DED brings the family that will be 3 (That's 7 people already and only 2 G35 members) so if you plan on 30 forum members showing up, we easily could have 100 people show up, right???

Re: 1st Annual Florida G-out
Hey, maybe I am over confident about the dedication of G drivers, but I did the same sort of math... And then I counted the parking spaces around the pavilions (isn't this of importance to us?) and figured if who ever rented that other pavilion brought their hundred people, we were heavily SOL.

Maybe I am thinking of this thing more from a car show mentality and less from a family picnic mentality. Which, if that is the case, I apologize.

I definately don't want to step on anyones toes, especially the regulars to the meets and such, so I will step back and let everyone else find the place. I was just trying to do some of the "leg work" to help find a place.

Re: 1st Annual Florida G-out
I just got back from Wickham park again, they do not have anything available for June 26. Whoever you talked to must've given you Wed., May 26 which is completely open. Its hard to find good part time minimum wage help these days!

Anyways... Relocating anywhere in the Melbourne, Orlando, Jax triangle is good for me.

Quit being selfish and think about the rest of the people going. If Melbourne isn't going to work Orlando is the next best spot.
