Terrible Dealer-Service

If you are in Tampa Id recommend avoiding Infiniti of Tampa. My first service is experience has been a terrible one. They gave me a loaner that smelled so bad that I have to drive with the window down. The inside has grease , coffee, and dirt everywhere (i had to sit on a towel!).
They won't warranty a panel, they say it was damaged by the stereo install. I am the one that put the stereo in and I didnt that panel off, and if I did and broke it Id have just bought a new one.
I am going to try Lokey in Clearwater, I have heard good things about them.
I even called the 800 number for Infiniti and they were NO help at all. Id rate my Chevy dealer higher than Infiniti! I had a problem with a repair on my Avalanche and called the 800 number and it was resoloved that day.
The kicker is the part is $100 and the dealer said that it will cost $900 to fix!

Never burn your bridges they don't have to accept you as a customer. Be nice and bring assorted doughnuts.
I used to take the service writers out to the Beer Pub and Hooters........amazing what being nice can accomplish.

I used both and found them about equal when I lived in Palm Harbour.

Re: Terrible Dealer-Service

I am sorry, I dont think I should have to kiss *** after I just paid $34000 for a car.
I wasnt rude nor out of line with them. I wanted a legitimate item repaired that had zero to do with my stereo install.
My experience with Mercedes of Tampa and the Ferman group was always pleasant. Never any issues with repairs no matter what it was . Mercedes even replaced a seat cover that I didnt ask to be fixed.
So you think its cool they tried to charge me $900 for a $100 part? Thats what they offered me, good deal uh?

Had similar experiences at Infiniti of Charlotte.

Might as well be Kia of Charlotte.

Re: Terrible Dealer-Service

Doughnuts are so inexpensive. Kiss ***, NO, just explain to them [in tangible subtle terms] why you should get better service than any of their other customers.

I always "bribe*" my service providers, a habit I picked up living in South America. Life is too short to have any unnecesssary hassles!
* money [cash] is so offensive in US, therefore creativity is required.

My office was 10 blocks from Lokey, they used to pick my Q up, service it and return to me every 90 days.
They were very mod friendly they installed by Stillen exhaust and suspension/shocks/springs/bars/ adjustable links even swapped a tranny for me a week before the warranty ran out,.....of course I haven't lived in Florida in 8 years so I'm sure all the old bunch is gone by now. Lokey did also own the MB dealer next door? Hope you didn't jump out of frying pan into fire.

Hope you get what you feel you deserve or at least they agree to work on your vehicle without suggesting you might find what you want [better service] in Orlando or Jacksonville.

Q45tech is a very wise man. This is a life lesson that you really should learn sooner than later.

Remember, it's not always about being right, it's about getting the right thing done in the end. If it costs you $3 to buy some donuts and a plesant 10 minute conversation with the service writer, so be it.

Is it right? NO

Does it work? YES

Wait until you're "in love" and your g/f with holds sex. That'll teach you that being right isn't all it's cracked up to be. [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]

301-bhp!!! ...and growing!

Re: Terrible Dealer-Service

There was absolutely no excuse for giving you a dirty smelly loaner though!
But that just proves that the class of people allowed to buy Infinitis has dropped even lower over the 10-14 years. Unfortunately there were not enough of these type buyers to go around [amongst the brands]. So Infiniti has been on a steady downhill run since 1994-1995. Many of the 165 dealers got sloppy trying to stay in business and make a living. Standards slipped as the customer quality slipped as 2nd or 3rd owners bought used cars they couldn't afford to maintain.

It should be a felony for people to eat or drink in a vehicle. Drive thrus should be outlawed.

You don't know the damage spilled Coffee/drinks have caused over the years.

The G35/FX is bringing volume [profits] back to dealerships after almost 10 years. They still have to get back to selling 15,000 Q per year like 1991-1995 and the return of the discriminating wealthy buyer.

Re: Terrible Dealer-Service

Yes the loaner was gross, there is nothing worse than riding in smelly car in 95 degree weather.
I agree that greasing the service writers is good way to always get your problems handled. My service writer from the Chevy dealer always was let in free at my club.. in return he always fixed every little problem without question on my Corvette (and there was a lot!).
This was my first service so I was expecting to be treated better. No big deal, I am going to Lokey and having a Vortech installed, so I will be taking care of the service guy over there for there for sure.
Oh... when I took the loaner back the lot porter pulled it right up front for the next customer....

Re: Terrible Dealer-Service

F*** that!!! I will not do S*** for my service crew. The service manager is just as screwed up as the service writers...I have too many bad stories to tell from my dealer. I think I am too nice to them and get stepped on. I won't let that happen from any Infiniti dealer anymore. I definately won't visit my So Cal dealer anymore once I get my warranty part in.

Re: Terrible Dealer-Service

Maybe Infiniti and the dealer will be LUCKY and you never buy another car from them.

Service writers and customer care employees are very likely to end up as addicts or at the minimum alcoholics after years of dealing with customers..........I'm not kidding.
To keep their job and not go crazy, they adapt and pray the customer will offend someone higher up [the dealer chain] so they don't have to kill him or her.

A really lousy job.......being a service writer, if you care about people..........the turn over is high and the rehab costs.

Re: Terrible Dealer-Service

At Infiniti of Orlando, the sales experience was horrible but I have been very happy with the service department and the loaner I had when I got a new tranny.

Except, of course, when the idiot detailers scratched my car trying to clean the "clear bra" stuff at the back wheels. luckily it buffed out.

Re: Terrible Dealer-Service

def. use Lokey in clearwater....

i GUARANTEE that you'll have a positive experience...... (and no greaseball loaner....most of the loaners i get have heated seats and working satelittle radio, so its all good by me!!)...still cant convince them i should get a m45-navi loaner though.......lolol

that said, when's the blower going in?? id like to stop by and view their progress (can document/photo it for you too, as im less than two miles away from them....can give ya updates....in realtime....as they happen.....lol)

i hope more catch on to the lokey attitude and help them help us get better performance parts for the masses......
