*PICTURES* of my LATE G35

I haven't posted in a very long time so i may be a stranger to most.

I just wanted to share some pictures of my recent accident which occurred on 06.07.2007 around noon o'clock on PCH.

Here's the story:
I was traveling southbound on PCH, while Mercedes was travelling northbound. Mercedes attempted to make a left turn onto Narcissus street on an uncontrolled intersection. Rather than continuing with her left turn, she stops in the middle of my lane, blocking my forward progress. I attempt to make a legal lane change to the right (of the two lane street) so I could avoid a head-on collision. The driver of the Mercedes decides to step on the gas and try to beat me past the intersection. Well, in her stepping on the gas we end up colliding at the intersection.

Both driver and passenger airbags deployed in my car. We get out of the car and driver of the Mercedes comes by to say
"I am soo sorry"

I reply "its fine". I start thinking, "oh wow, she actually realized that she made the left turn prematurely...."

Later when the police officer started taking the driver's statement, the driver started saying that i caused the accident by speeding. That pissed me off soooo much cause that wasn't even the case! If anybody drives PCH at noon on a workday between Corona Del Mar and Laguna Beach, you know how much traffic there is and there really isn't much of an opportunity to speed due to overwhelming traffic.

Im just glad the officer quickly replied:
"well, you would still be at fault since this is an uncontrolled intersection and he had the right of way."

after that response from the officer, the driver came back with:
"well, i didnt see him driving down the road".

The officer quickly replied,
"you would still be at fault since you attempted to make a left turn in an uncontrolled intersection without knowing if there was oncoming traffic."

The other driver gave another lame excuse, but i didn't hear what she said.

[UPDATE] I got additional bad news today (06.11.2007) that my car will be totalled since there's too much damage incured. CRAP!!

Im just glad nobody was seriously hurt in this accident.

anyway, here are some pictures:

check out the metal piece that holds up the hood.

*sigh* I still get sick to my stomach when i see these pictures.

R.I.P. my IP on 6MT

Anyway, thanks for viewing.

Cheers,
Michael

Wow. Glad you're OK. Good thing about the police report too giving the fault to the Mercedez driver. You shouldn't be hearing any crap from the other driver's insurance.

Yeah, ive talked with their insurance company and they said they're accepting fault and now just trying to get any other expense, like medical stuff taken care of. Im currently seeing a specialist for some issues which were incured during the accident.

My statement to the first cop was pretty brief, and once i mentioned "she was blocking my lane and stopped in the middle of the street when making her left turn". He said "you have the right of way since this is a uncontrolled intersection". The lady police officer that took the other driver's statement already had the same mindset that i have the right of way. Plus the other driver said that she stopped in the middle of the street.

Im just glad it wasn't more serious.

that does sound very tempting.. im leaning towards a FX35 tho, or some sort of SUV. Im looking forward to doing more outdoor activities (fishing, mountain biking and camping, etc..) and an SUV would fit those hobbies better.. but who knows.

where are those pics from the K1 racing day? I missed this past weekend, but i did go last year..

Mike,

I'm at a loss for words bro.
Glad you're safe.

The other driver can say whatever... Regardless still at fault.
Basically a car could fall from the sky and if it hits a car making a left-turn, that car making that left-turn will be at fault.

Worse than rear-ending someone actually.

Take it easy man.
