Transponder key and key fob programming in SoCal (valley area)

I found out yesterday the guys at CarZone have the transponder key programmer and key fob programmer.

it took me forever to find a place that would do it and do it at the right price
the Van Nuys dealer wanted like $200 for the key and $200 for programming

the key cost me $20 on ebay and programming $50
took 2 weeks to find someone who would program it
but I've made it easier for you

if you get a new key or need one
the key has a chip in it which needs to be programmed in order for the car to start

this programming is not the same as programming the remote, you need the machine to do it

Yep that's right, there are other threads about this too.
Most locksmith's have this programmer nowadays and charge about the same.

You guys know that the programming of keys is done with the car....

It's a process so that your ECU learns the keys you program. If you need to program a new key, you must program ALL of them at the same time so that the ECU stores it into the memory. If you don't, it will ONLY remember 1 key (or the key(s) programmed at that moment).

the key and remote programming are two different things, the remote is easy. Programming the key (key in the pic above) is the hard part you need the machine that connects to the car
