speeding ticket and air intake ticket..

i got a ticket in costa mesa for driving 40 mph on "25+" mph, and JWT cold air intake.
How much does the ticket cost usually for my case? i hope it's not too much

As for cold air intake, i didn't have the EO number at the time. They want me to go see the state smog ref.. should i swap back to stock intake before i go?

Funny thing, he wrote my birthday as 03/28/63..wth i'm under 25 .

Unless that intake has a carb sticker just throw on the OEM.

15 over the speed limit, probably $160, the fix-it ticket will likely be another hundy Slap on your original intake and go get it signed off.

only $160? without going to traffic school?
my friend paid over $400 for speeding ticket on freeway doing 15~20 over the limit. That was after going to the traffic school..

Damn, guess I havent had a speeding ticket in a while...come to think of it, its been LONG time. A city ticket will often be less than a freeway ticket. If it was a school zone then you might be in for a very pricey ticket. Got to say, 40 in a 25 is pretty bad, the lower the speed limit the more likely you are to get a ticket. If you are going to do spirited driving you need to do it in areas that won't offend anyone. If an area is a 25mph than they likely get a lot of complaints about people racing down the street, and thus, you played right into it.

How does one acquire a ticket for an intake? I mean what was the reason for getting the hood open in the first place? (Assuming that had to happen)

There doesn't have to be a reason, if the cop is bored and wants to be a dick than you don't have a choice. I know a lot of people who had to pop their hoods before because their cars look "modded".

i am pretty sure I would put up some resistance right there and ask for a warrant. A speeding ticket is not probable cause and you can likely get that one tossed out. I won't open my trunk without a damned good reason.

Everyone should watch this

i had my hood opened up before too. There were 3 cops and made me sit out on the curb wtf.
They freaking took away my key too lol

i thought i'll just get a fix it ticket but apparently i have to take it to smog ref -_-..

I REALLY doubt it was 25 mph street. He probably wasn't sure so he wrote "25+".

for every 1 mph you are over x10 = $150+ also add in court fees and processing come out to be around $200+.

I went 52 in a 40 and my ticket was 365 close to downtown LA. Hopefully yours is a lot less than mine.

Good advice....^....I keep a CARB sticker with my registration, even though it's not from the intake I'm running.

For 15 mph over, you're looking at close to $350. I got busted for the same thing a few years back and that's about how much it was.
