The after market plenum is upper manifold only... The only upper and lower (that I know of) is the new Kinetix Extreme Flow SSV and it's over $700... Can't wait for some results out here 'cause it's mean looking! I was considering it but I'm going to wait till a few people have it for a while. Kinetix and Crawford have made multiple version of their plenums, so I imaging there will be several versions of the Extreme Flow SSV too before it's perfected.

after i reset the ECU, I did notice an improvement in acceleration. 1st gear is always to short to tell any gains but the 2nd and 3rd gear pulls were amazingly better...4th, 5th and 6th gear runs were slightly better....so yes, it did make an difference and I have yet to experience pinging yet....

btw...just to make sure we're on the same page, I only reset the ECU...no re-mapping(As in TS ECU)....

probably, but since there's also the 'bang-for-buck' factor which you just can't beat with the spacer....

let's see here....

it's pretty much a norm that for every $100 you spend you get 1hp. Example, you spend $6000-8000 on a supercharger or a TT kit(with FMIC and installations costs), you get around 60-80 horses....abour $100/hp. not bad.

the spacer costs around $200(since the motordyne one seems to be cheaper)...and you get an average of 10hp gain....if we still assumed thatthe ratio is true, that's uh....$20/hp....

I think I'm smiling.

10-4... I "over-read" thinking you meant the TS ECU... I didn't realize re-setting/re-flash would make a noticeable difference. I've always understood the ECU eventually catches up to mod variations - Thanks for the clarification, sounds like it worked well for you. The pinging I mentioned was from tweaking ECU as in TS - but I'm still planning on getting it done. Does anyone have any negative opinions on having ECU re-mapped?

well, from the information I've gathered so far, if you reset your ECU, that pretty much erases the 'status-quo' settings for car. Once you reset, you're pretty much left with a 'blank-canvas'. Drive aggressively to sorta re-map the ECU settings. But eventually the computer will revert back to more 'normal' settings in a few weeks or so.

with TS ECU reflash, you're pretty much permenantly setting the ECU to perform at more aggressive curve, but it shouldn't ping your engine because TS ECUs pretty much compensate for all the mods you have for your car to maintain that 'optimal' settings for your ECU....

I'm not planning on getting the TS ECU mod until I think I'm finally done with adding more mods(or at least for a long time) because I wouldn't want to go back to reflash every time I got a new mod for my engine..

Nissan engineers did a good job making our "smart car"... I understand the ECU "learns" from our driving patterns, I'm just not entirely certain of the re-flashing helps it along any more than just spirited driving in general and having it catch up. I'm certainly not debating anything you said and definitley not wanting to open a can of worms... Just adding my 2 cents.

Thanks for your info I appreciate it. I too have debated how long to wait for TS ECU since performance modding will probably never end for me - I chose to get it done right after my next mod (plenum spacer) because I don't plan to do anything else (right away) that will be effected by ECU... Down the road I'm sure I will add more at which point I will have TS re-set - I believe they only charge $150 the second time around.
