Now since im a resident of Nevada, can i settle this ticket here in Vegas?! Does anyone know how much of a fine im lookin at?! A

I believe you can request a change of venue for the ticket. Then the officer has to appear in that court. You should've been able to request that from the officer, but just call the court you are supposed to appear at and let them know that you woud not be able to make it in and that you need a change. Should work. My mother just found this out when she went to traffic school last week. The fine can be pretty expensive though, I got a ticket for 105 in a 70 and had to pay almost $600.00.

Good Luck,

Ray

$600! T_T

I called the court and the clerk said I cant bring the ticket to settle in Vegas. Are you sure you can change the venue? I also read somewhere that its the law, that out of state tickets will be treated as if you commited the violation in your own state. I dunno why they are not letting me change the venue though...

That's what the teacher at the traffic school told my mom. If you can change the venue, then the officer would have to appear as well if you chose to fight the ticket. Maybe you have to tell the officer when he is writing the ticket, I'm not quite sure as I didn't get the info first hand.

above 100? That can be wreckless driving, felony I believe....up to the cop? And depending on if there wer other cars or not, he can put endangerment?

Nah, i just got cited for speeding no wreckless driving. Just an infraction, not misdemeanor.

It might be that you can only change venue within California. So you might want to try and change it to somewhere you think the cop isn't going to show up. But I don't think there is anyway that you can get it transferred to Nevada. That is why I drive pretty slowly (~80) in Nevada, then speed up in California (since I live in California).

Sorry Omar but not everyone does 100+ on the I-15, especially when we know CHP aircrafts are above. Didn't you know that about the I-15? They do have signs posted as your coming up/down on it.

As for changing venues, I'm almost certain they will not allow especially when speeds excess of 100 is considered wreckless driving. You may want to look into a traffic attorney.

Omar,

My daughter got a speeding ticket doing the exact same speed and in the same place, as you. She had to go back down there and paid a $400 fine. She was leaving LV and coming up to the Bay Area. I told her she was quite fortunate for multiple reasons.
