Just finally got time to install these springs on Saturday.

Overall the install was pretty straight forward.. The rear are SO easy it's not even funny, but the fronts are a little bit of a biatch, though... Took me a little over an hour to do the fronts and about 30 - 45 minutes to do the rears. No special tools are required to do the rear (but you will need a goofloor jack), but you will need a spring compressor tool for the fronts... for both removal of the stock springs AND the install of the new springs.

First impressions.... After only about 200 miles on the car, the car is sitting perfectly level. So far the springs have lowered the car about .80" in the front and .70" in the rear. I doubt the springs have fully settled in, so I plan to check again this weekend, but if this is any idication, I may not need the spring isolators to level the rear, as the springs have actually lowered the car more in the front than in the rear. The springs are ever so slightly stiffer than stock... just cruising you really can't tell any difference, but they did help eliminate the remaining lean (what was left after the Hotchkis sways) when cornering... the car now corners virtually flat, even when pushed to the point of oversteer.

So far I am very happy with them... We'll see if the car is still nice and level after a week or two and I will give an update then.

In the mean time, I will post some before and after pics later today or tonight.
awesome! can't wait for the pics!

If you measure under the side skirt, then the rear is higher, but if you measure to the edge of the wheelwell, then they are almost exactly the same. The rear wheel-wells are actually about .2 - .3" lower than the front from the factory, even though the car is level. This is because the rear wheel-well actually extends downward farther than the front giving the imagine that the rear of the car is lower than the front, when in actuality, it isn't.

Very interesting!
I look forward to settled #s

Compared to spec drops.....
Even though they're not settled in, it seems strange that the rears dropped < fronts.

Yeah, I thought so too, but it could take longer for the rear, since the there's less weight in the back ofthe car than the front. Don't know.

Anyway, I drove the car more today and it's staying pretty firm at .80" drop in the front and about .70" in the rear. I'll check again in a few days.

OK... Finally posting some before and after pics with the Tanabe NF210 springs.

I've now driven the car over 400 miles (most with multiple passengers) over the past week and here are the final drop number:

LF: .85"
RF: .80"
LR: .75"
RR: .80"

So, basically, I saw about a .80 - .90" drop in the front and about a .70 - .80" drop in the rear. While this didn't eliminate all of the wheel-well gap, it got rid of about half of it... I'll take sme new measurements in a few days and see if they've settles any more and then post my results.

20mm's F and R right?
i think i'm gonna go with 15mm's F/R and a slightly lower drop, like 1" front and back. probably using coilovers whenever some nice ones come out.
Your car looks so nice man! one of the best subtle looking sedans i've seen. You got everything just right!

Thanks, Will. I'm happy with the drop so far, but not necessarily happy with the ride. The springs actually seem "softer" than the stock set-up, which actually makes the car a little bouncy. I think it's partly because of the progressive spring rates, which start out soft, but get stiffer as you compress them.. because the car feels great around the turns and over small bumps, but on concrete highways and over expansion joints it just seems a little too bouncy to me... maybe it's under damped now.. I just love the way Travis' cr rides with his TEIN coil-overs, so I will probably end up going that route in a few months once they become available.

FYI... My RF is still a little higher than the LF. Here are my final fender-well height numbers after the drop:

LF: 27.2"
RF: 27.4"
LR: 26.8"
RR: 26.9"

All are well within a 1/4" of eachother and the differences are petty close to what they were with the stock springs, so the actual drop was almost equal all around.

Thanks! It's much appreciated.... I really am trying to keep the car understated and classy. Even though it drives almost like a sports car, it's still a sport luxury sedan, so I'm trying not to go overboard with it. LOL. Thanks again for the nice comments!

Oh, and yes, I'm running 20 mm spacers all around. You definitely need the 20 mm spacers in the front, but if I had to do it again, I'd probably go with 15 mm spacers in the rear... 20 mm up front and 15 mm in the rear is gonna be just perfect IMO.

sorry for the caps but:

THIS KIT IS AWESOME FOR THOSE GUYS COMPLAINING HOW EXPENSIVE IMPULS ARE!!!!

otherwise, excellent job man, looks great!
Only thing that doesn't make sense to me is that the Tanabe's (on other member's rides) have a sagged rear end while yours seems to sit level.

Did you use boosters/isolators???

+10000....
Damn Adrian, they worked out great!
I hear you about progressive spring rates; I've never been a fan.

I am totally confused though
Did Tanabe change the design specs or something????

Other guys have installed these & got a real saggy a$$ stance.

I want this stance right here!!!!!
