Thanks!!!!
I brought the car used in 4/2011 from a used car dealer
I have not seen the service history for the car.
2006 I brought it with 47k on it
The first time I checked the oil after getting the car it was about a quart low, the next time I checked it there was no oil level. I had to add about 4 quarts to it and called for the OC testing.

Can someone explain to me the difference between the short block and long block fix for the OC issue?
Thanks.

Started having this problem again after having my engine replace (i believe short block) the first time at around 50k
Now over 100k (around 104k) and they refused to replace it....is there anything I can do?
Reply:
First place a formal complaint with the Federal Department that takes care of recalls.
Then find out what is the warranty on the engine, it should be 60k or 6 years for power train after replacement or it may be shorter for the second time around!.
Call Costumer support and check what their answer will be.

No matter how many replacements you've gotten, the warranty on those are only as long as the original 6yr/70K power-train warranty. I inquired when I got mine and was told that. I've read if engine replaced close to factory warranty expiration, they'll give you a 1yr/12K. Beyond any of that, your SOL with Dealer and Infiniti unless you have the 7yr/100K extended.

I picked up my car today after driving the M37x for a week it is good to be back in my car. Don't get me wrong the M37x is a VERY nice ride and it is damn fast. I looked over the Invoice they installed the Short Block, manifold & engine gaskets. I have to follow the standard break-in procedure under 4k RPM for 1200 miles. I hope the issue is resolved.
The best move I've made was getting the Infiniti Extended warranty.

Congrats on the new motor but unfortunately the issue is not resolved. Nissan is trying to keep everything hush hush till your warranty expires. The new block will still burn oil and could crap out if you do not keep an eye on it. Definitely nice to have a warranty and a fresh short block. You still need to worry about the rest of the motor and timing components as they are not fresh. I would switch to German castrol 0w30 synthetic once you are ready to switch to synthetic after break in. It is a thicker 30 weight oil and should help reduce OC along with trying not to rev it up all the way in each gear...lolz no revving the rev-up .
Years ago I had a 1990 Toyota Celica GTS I bought used with 68K, I drove it like was in a rally race 75% of the time. High Rpms, engine braking, down shifting, red lining and it was very good with oil.
I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I hear you 100%, I can live with a little OC but the rate I was losing oil prior to the new motor was for the birds. If its still unreasonable the car will be going back to the dealer.

This is only for piston rings still read the complete post on my350z. This was all the data gathered from bunch of people who has multiple 2-3 engine blocks per person and found best results.
"As soon as you get it, but it really does not matter when, is to put a load on it. Uphill WOT, never over revving past 4k rpm and when you reach 65mph, then back off. Do this 5 times. It will help with seating the pistons and rings"
