^ You've done your homework I see. Wow I said that a long time ago lol (06CPV35). And yeah too bad that study of mine flopped. Oh well that's how it goes with public forums and such.

Oil was changed Friday to start the test, went to a meet and cruze this weekend and put 300miles on the new oil, checked the dipstick just now already a quart low

So far so good, im interested to see what Infiniti does since this is not a rev-up motor *fingers crossed*

Pearson Infiniti is pretty cool with modds their Master Tech I am good ffiends with and shut anyone down that says my mods have anything to do with engine internals

I throughly miss my ART pips sound and power along with my tune

Aprx 400 miles since short block replacement I checked my oil once I got my car back and I check it today. My oil level is up to the H mark on the dipstick. I will check the oil every 250 miles to see if there are any significant changes. I've fought the urge to check it more often, I was worried about developing an OCD condition checking the oil level everyday, multiple times a day

I am aware that some oil will be consumed during the break-in period. Staying under 4K RPM is no fun. I noticed that the new motor appears to build revs faster than before the motor swap.

lol @ the OCD comment , yeah it will use some and even more if its "harsh conditions" like the manual says, do you know if they put regular/synthetic/new engine oil in on the replacement engine??

just be gentle for quite some time even past the 1200 break in period to ensure the seals are set good, that could be the issue from the get go... improper break in

I just called the dealership and spoke to someone in the service dept they use a synthetic blend oil.

Update:
Well I was wrong.... they did confirm that its using oil (2qts low after 1300mi this past change) but Infiniti USA did not approve the new motor yet because my car is an auto and isn't under the tsb...

Now my options are: 1 add oil religiously 2 get tech to fly in and inspect my car (if ends up not being covered I could pay up to 2k in labor) 3 trade up to a g37 or new car

I've been told ill have one hell of a fight because I do my own oil changes, my car is modified and infiniti will need proof above and beyond to shell out the new motor, I really love my car but I don't want to have to keep up on the oil I can't even put my art pipes back on because of the oil smoke

I have an 07 6MT Coupe.

I got my G right before the warranty was about to expire and I took it in to the dealership for a check-up, and I brought this TSB printed for them to look at.

They said my car didn't require this TSB or that it didn't apply.

In any case, now that my warranty is over, I noticed that my car DOES have an OC problem. I change the oil every 5k km ( 3k miles ) with synthetic and it's always missing a quart or two.

What can I do in this case ?

Is your car within the range that should covered by the TSB?
If you are withing range you may need to purchase an extended warranty from infiniti and try a different dealer.
