ECU reset impact?

Hey all,

I wanted to do the hard pedal ECU reset to see if it resolves an electrical problem I'm having. However, I wanted to know if this would erase the ECU reflash I had done at AAM last year?

I called AAM and they said it shouldn't but their answer didn't leave me feeling 100% confident. Anyone know if the manual reset will revert any of the hard-coded ECU ROM settings done during my flash?

Thanks,
B

It should not be affected. You can just remove the battery for several hours or overnight if you feel better. That should work too.
Nobody would get their ECU flashed if it would erase the program every time the battery was disconnected for a while.
AAM, etc. flash an eprom that needs to be re-flashed to change it.

Just do the reset or pull the negative battery terminal overnight.

What ECU settings are reset when I disconnect the negative terminal overnight? In other words, what will my car have to "re-learn"?

Thanks,
B
