CAMP 2 or PLX Devices

Ok so I have been searching around and trying to find some good info on both th HKS Camp 2 and the PLX Devices. I really like the Camp 2 because it will hold all the gauges I need in the minitor on my car, and it seems to be a cheaper then PLX devices. If I got the Camp 2 I would get the addition sensors that come with it and the Nissan/Infiniti Consult cable which adds up to roughly a grand. The PLX devices for my needs would add up to about 1500. Money is not really an issue.

What I really came here for is to ask if anybody has used the Camp 2 and how do they like it? Are there any known problems or anything assiociated with the Camp 2.

How do people that have PLX gauges like them? I see storage of the unit themselves might be a little tricky but nothing I can't work out. So let me know what you guys think about the 2 of them

Camp2 hands down, but if u want to monitor a/f with it, you have to purchase the AFK and harness, which is another ~800.

edit: OP u r using a Haltech or a form of F-con management? I dunno for sure, but I thought the CAMP2 needed to connect to some form of F-con to show most functions. I could be wrong though.

There's a separate connection harness for the f-con but it is not necc. I'm going to be installing ths at te end of the month...I chose this over the navigator only because I didn't want the pillar gauges You should also be able to select alternate maps as well but they need to be setup/unlocked by a authorized dealer....I'll keep you posted.

I personally prefer the PLX, as I don't have a screen to put the camp2 on. Any screen that can be mounted in my s2k would be so far that i wouldn't be able to keep an eye on it safely

I have a DM-100 with AFR, EGT, boost, and oil PSI modules. They're not installed yet; I havnt figured out good placement for the display yet

It's a standard size 52mm.

I picked up the less expensive DM-5 screen. I'll have to do the others later considering that I have to get 1 DM-100 screen for every thing I want to be showing.

I'm not sure how much you've played with the PLX DM-100 yet but there is a HUD function that inverts the display so you can project it onto your windshield. I know space in the s2k can be limited so you might want to look into that option. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to project mine onto though. I need to find a little square of the reflective material to put on the inside of my windshield. I might try a small square of tint.

It's not quite bright enough when you're out at the track and all the surroundings are just dirt and sunlight.

I'm probably going to end up mounting it on the steering column, wrx/sti boost gauge style.

I won't need to monitor it co nstantly, since I'll be running the display that shows 4 readings and their peaks.

I have time, as I'm not FI quite yet

To add to this,

I've seen the Camp2 in TerryCS's car, and it can display SIX things and their peaks, as well as being a larger display. Alternatively, it can show 3 displays with analog gauges and peaks.

Both systems have their merits.
