I just got an interesting PM, so I'm waiting on a response. This thing may finally be solved.

Also, I agree on your comment about the Maxima community. I've made mention of the similarities between the early G35 ECU and the VQ Maximas to Hypertech. Maybe they will come out with something.

Final Update Before the Weekend:
Early ECU support IS offered.

In other words, Hypertech isn't going to say they support 03-06 G35s and simply forget about the early ECU. All ECUs will be covered by the programmer, and we're just waiting on the tech team to finish making the code for the early ECU. Hypertech says that they don't think it'll be a big hurdle to offer support for the early ECU, so stay tuned for next week! Maybe something exciting will happen.

IMHO, they might as well be starting over. Hope they can do that. The only other company that has done it is Technosquare.

but thanks for the effort and I hope it works out for you because that means the rest of us will have options. Now start bugging them about a tranny ecu reflashes! lol

I know hypertech does domestic tranny ecu modifications. so crossing my fingers

Hypertech Update
Hey guys,

Just a quick update. I spoke with Chris from Hypertech today, and everything might be ready by Friday! This is of course a tentative due date, but keep your fingers crossed!

I'll call back on Friday.

I'm excited but very tentative that this will happen. Went through all this with COBB and just ended up disappointed.

I too talked to Cobb and they were FAR less cooperative than Hypertech.

In terms of an update, Chris and I traded e-mails on Friday, but I'm not sure if Hyptertech wants me to release the information we exchanged. It's interesting, and we'll see what happens. They have not given up the fight

COBB was less cooperative, yes. But the problem is the same: different ECU altogether.

I am calling Hypertech tomorrow. The early ECU does not have a certain pin in the OBDII port like the later ECUs. They were not getting a signal back from the ECU because there was nothing there to send/receive!

Chris said this wasn't a deal breaker, so I'll see what they have for me tomorrow.

I sure hope they're not on square one...

^^ Uprev already noticed an issue with the '03 wiring and issued a DIY fix. I'd send that to your guy if I were you, it may help??

I did send it, but they said they found a work around. I am acually sitting in my car right now while the programmer reads the computer. Hypertech sent me a unit specific update, and the programmer actually got into tuning mode! After it finishes recording the ECU, I will email them the info, and a new, early ECU, calibration should be available in about two days!

EDIT: Sent out the calibration! Hypertech said that it'll most likely be ready on Monday! It looks like thew programmer is a go unless they run into some issue with the calibration, but, IMO, that's unlikely. I'll keep everyone posted!
