They are currently bench testing the calibration on an ECU to make sure nothing like that happens. Hypertech is a pretty reputable company. I would be willing to get a before/after dyne to make sure my A/F ratio is in sync. That would add more to this thread as well. Maybe I'll make my way over to AAM tuning and hop on the roller, it'll certainly be interesting...

I've been hanging on for months now, so I'll see this through the end. I want this thing to work. They work on all the other G35/350z's, so I can't wait until it works on mine!

Btw, I searched your threads after seeing your E-FAN thread, I'll have to PM you about it, but how do you like the 350z cams? How different are they?

I remember trying to get some action for our cars from Cobb. That sucked too.

 

At this point, I am going to wait it out. It's been 3 months since I first got the unit, and I just want to see it through to the end.

Btw, the e-mail I'm waiting for is the one that's automatically sent out when the calibration is available. It's supposed to be THE final e-mail. When I get that, I plug the damn thing into my car, and see what happens (engine blows up, hahaha).

In terms of the engine I think it should be fine, but the dyno will tell all. I think they need a dyno specific to the auto sedans anyway. None is listed on their website. It's not likely they'll accept mine, but it'll be interesting to see the difference.

 

Interesting turn of events, they are buying my ECU, the exact model, AM601, to bench test. They said that there are enough differences between 600-604 that they wanted to get my exact unit to make sure they were testing the correct one.

This means that when the bug testing is complete it will work for my exact ECU, 02/02 build date, but I'll have to ask what the deal is for the rest of the series.

Ever consider just trading your '03 for a late model '03 or '04? Virtually no difference in price, just sell it to someone who doesn't give a rats *** about tuning (99.98% of the population wouldn't care whether they had an '03 or an 03.5).

Only the very early 03s have the maxima ecu. You can tell by looking at the harness that the ecu connects to. Light gray = crap maxima version. Black = newer versions.

If you have a doggy door, that's a sure sign. If not, I'd tend to say you are good to go.

This is the problem I ran into with a lot of manufacturers 3 years ago. I gave up on them


Instead I decided to contact Infiniti and ask them If I can purchase an 04 ECU and program it for my car and then send it out to get flashed or at that point actually purchase the Osiris UPREV. They said I can do it, but it'll be expensive.

I haven't had the time to get around to do it.

 

Why would you go out and buy another ECU? You'd have to get it programed to your car (ie.. security).

Besides, you can't use the Osiris on your early 03. Just send it to Technosquare like I did
