Should I get a tune now?

I'm definitely getting a tune no doubt about that. I guess I'll just have to wait to get everything done before I get out on the track.

How much more performance are we talking here with the spark plugs? The greddy plugs are going to be $150+ as apposed to the $50 oem plugs.

For what I'm doing, the rpms are going to be in the mid range to high rpms so running lean won't be too good for it correct? I know I'll be lean but how bad is it on a n/a motor as opposed to FI?

It really depends on the car, if you are curious take it to a local shop and do some dyno pulls and check the A/F, they'll be able to tell you. Had one local guy come to a dyno day with a LOT of misguided mods, he was running so lean you could hear knock in the parking lot, couldn't even complete the dyno pull. This is an extreme case however.

I'd say the greddy plugs will get you an extra 5-10%? Don't have any exact #'s, might do that this summer if I get bored.

tahts actually a very nice number. Is it just because they are a step colder or just from the way they are made?

Wait, that may have come off wrong, I don't mean 5-10% total (25whp) but 5-10% of the gains, so 2-3whp difference. Its a combination of factors, some being the consistency and quality of the spark, as well as the heat range, you can push timing more aggressively with the colder plugs and make more power with less knock, from our experiences.

I think I will go ahead with the tune before I get the differential. No need to rush into something I won't need just yet. What is the full name of that Greddy spark plug?

I've been told and have read that its safer to stay with the stock plugs. What are your thoughts?

They're the Greddy L7, and how could it be "safer" to stay with stock plugs? I call BS

saying that since the engine is used to that spark or something? I'm not sure. I usually see people saying stick to the oem plugs but I am not sure why. How many cars do you know of that have made the switch to the Greddy plugs?

Personally about 15, but like I said the gains will be negligible if you're not getting a dyno tune

The car is very responsive to how much throttle I apply. It is even more fun to drive now. Tune was the best thing I've done to my car because it also saved my motor. I had a knock and was running super lean O.O
