Thumbs up

Eh guys...

To stick with the format!

Car info: 06 G35AT Coupe.
Mods: Subtantial... see garage.
Dyno Sheet: See pic

Ace32x is going to have a ferocious beast posted in here at some point in the near future, so I figured I'd post mine so far too. Uprev is NOT just an NA platform- so those of you looking at the substantial cost of Haltech thinking it's a requirement for big numbers- we're going to put that crap to rest.

I'm posting this as kind of a TT baseline at the fringe of the stock MAF limited to about 5psi and 400 HP or so. I put in slightly richer gas (Chev 94) than I got tuned on and seem to crash into limp mode when I lean on it... so 401.5 hp and 5 psi is all you're going to be able to expect out of the stock MAF. Expecting bigger numbers? Expect to upgrade the MAF.

Fortunately, Uprev now has an "uprev GT" upgraded MAF and my next dyno sheet will have figures with that in play. As it is, this was my break in tune on a new built short block and built tranny. Lots of room to move with this... but final numbers probably won't come up until October sometime.

I always got a lot of Haltech recommendations what with 550HP + goals in mind with this project... but with the upgraded MAF (not necessary for the haltech as far as I know) Uprev is MORE than capable of handling the job. And I'm looking forward to Intec Racing proving this fact soon!

Just trying to figure out but for most of you 5at guys that get a tune. I was wondering what your rev limiter is after the tune?

any cams??? my tuner was scared to increase mine bc he said it would drop a rod or something along those lines bc i didnt have cams.

And since yours is a non rev up.. how could yours be at 7k to begin with? i thought the stock is 6800?

No cams, you are correct, redline was at 6600, it was increased to 7k. My apologies

The concern isn't the rods. The concern with these motors is the valve springs (they float at around 7200rpms) and the oil pump (can't keep up with the rpm). With that said, since the non-Revup DE peaks out around 6200-6300rpms there isn't much sense increasing the limiter beyond 6800rpms. Do valve springs (JWT sells them), get the Revup oil pump, cams, and the modded plenum, and a VQ35DE can breath to around 7500rpm safely.

Well my tuner ssaid he increased it to 7000. But i cant really tell the difference from before and after the tune =\

When i change the map settings to the stock map and rev all the way up, and change it to the performance map and rev it all the way up.. it hits the same points.. so i dont think my tuner changed jack.

Thanks Dave for clearing it up for me.

But after looking at your dyno charts. After the tune i notice your dyno chart rpm drop at around 6700 to 6900.. thats where mine fell AFTER and BEFORE.

So im kinda confused on whether or not my tuner changed anything.
