how many hours did your base tune cost
My local shop who's done a couple of uprev tunes around here gave me a quote for my base NA tune. I was just trying to compare with other shops to see if its fair. It sounds a hair on the pricey side to me. I dont have too many options when it comes to uprev tuners that have a AWD dyno on hand here. But i'm willing to shop around anything close to about 5-7 hours away from chicago. I already have the tuner version installed.
My quote was a flat strap down cost and a PER hour cost, was told it was about 3 hours to knock out a base tune. $150 per hour.
I'm only N/A bolt-ons.

They shouldn't be charging you a "strap up fee".
I personally think 2 hours for an NA uprev tune is more than enough, but some shops like to milk it. Prices will range from flat rate $250 up to 3 hours depending on shop and location. That being said I would never pay more than 3 hours dyno time.

yea, your tuning fee should include all fees associated with dyno session. A flat rate are usually better, so that you don't get milked. i think 2-3 hrs for a good tune is pretty average, but this should include strap on/off from dyno.

i have my own uprev software already. But the flash is +$300.
I'm just a little bothered at the price i have to pay when i do own the license and software. I was honestly expect $350-400 for them to put my car on the dyno and tune it but w/e i'll get it done sometime in the spring.

If you're in Chicago, check out project X. I usually get my stuff installed there, and heard they do good tunes too. They told me it usually takes 2 hours to tune. I'm sure a retune would be quicker.

I've used them for minor stuff. They are good guys. I might talk to them in the summer.
Might be a silly question for you guys, but...with a full exhaust, ART pipes, and a CAI would you tune or would you leave well enough alone? I mean they are not crazy mods (my simple future plans) but I wonder would I benefit at all from a tune or not. Would it be worth the expense
