Treo Bluetooth in Car; All Calls come in as Private

Does anyone else have that problem? I have a Sprint Treo 755P. My Verizon XV6700 worked fine and reported the name of the incoming callers (so long as I had their name and number in the car's address book). However, with the 755p, all calls come in as Private when they are in the address book and they're not private numbers.

Any ideas?

I have the same issue. I also have the Sprint Treo 755p. I haven't had time to troubleshoot or look into it further since its been habit looking at my phone screen to see who it is. I'll check it out later...

Glad to know it appears to be an equipment problem and not anything I did.

I had a Verizon Treo 650 which gave me a lot of problems in the G. Best solution I can give you is to return it for a Blackberry.

I tried to troubleshoot it first myself. I called Verizon and they said call Inifiniti. I called Infiniti and all they said was "your phone's not on the compatabile list . . . sorry. No software updates are in the works to make your phone work."

Yeah it's probably the way PalmOS reports phone calls. Other than that it works fine.

The way the Treo 650 works is kinda weird -- it will only keep the bluetooth connection for a few seconds (just TRY to enter a phonebook entry in that amount of time!), and will only re-establish it if you press the phone button on the nav panel or a call comes in (and then for only a few seconds if there's no active call).

Kinda frustrating, but it seems it's in the behavior of the phone itself. Anyone find a buried setting in the phone to change this?

This is strange... all of a sudden it started working with my 755p now. I didn't even do anything. It just displays the number of who's calling now instead of "private number"

I just got a Treo 700wx and so far a lot of times the call doesn't go through, it just hangs up after 2-3 seconds of hitting the dial button. it does even ring. I find that i have the turn the screen on in order for this to work but my VX6700 never had that problem.

My GSM Treo 650 works quite well. I had a bit of a problem switching between calls for a bit, but I re-paired the phone to the car and reset it, also got the voice tags TSB upgrade and everything works pretty well. I was not able to transfer the phonebook and am doing this manually, but all in all it works pretty well.

Well, I'm back to my old 8525 as of yesterday, but until that, I was using the Treo 750 and it worked fine. I actually think that Treo 750 was one of the best I've used with my car. Not that I've used a lot of different phones, but I have had a Cingular 8125, 8525, Treo 750, Samsung i730, Motorola K1, LG Chocolate, and a RAZR. They all worked fine, but Treo 750 had truly better reception and clearness of the voice.

Maybe you should change the Bluetooth stack on your phone? or upgrade the firmware? You may visit PDAphonehome.com or Howardforum.com for more info. Good luck! ;D
