Treo Bluetooth in Car; All Calls come in as Private
Does anyone else have that problem? I have a Sprint Treo 755P. My Verizon XV6700 worked fine and reported the name of the incoming callers (so long as I had their name and number in the car's address book). However, with the 755p, all calls come in as Private when they are in the address book and they're not private numbers.
Any ideas?

I had a Verizon Treo 650 which gave me a lot of problems in the G. Best solution I can give you is to return it for a Blackberry.
I tried to troubleshoot it first myself. I called Verizon and they said call Inifiniti. I called Infiniti and all they said was "your phone's not on the compatabile list . . . sorry. No software updates are in the works to make your phone work."

The way the Treo 650 works is kinda weird -- it will only keep the bluetooth connection for a few seconds (just TRY to enter a phonebook entry in that amount of time!), and will only re-establish it if you press the phone button on the nav panel or a call comes in (and then for only a few seconds if there's no active call).
Kinda frustrating, but it seems it's in the behavior of the phone itself. Anyone find a buried setting in the phone to change this?

Well, I'm back to my old 8525 as of yesterday, but until that, I was using the Treo 750 and it worked fine. I actually think that Treo 750 was one of the best I've used with my car. Not that I've used a lot of different phones, but I have had a Cingular 8125, 8525, Treo 750, Samsung i730, Motorola K1, LG Chocolate, and a RAZR. They all worked fine, but Treo 750 had truly better reception and clearness of the voice.
Maybe you should change the Bluetooth stack on your phone? or upgrade the firmware? You may visit PDAphonehome.com or Howardforum.com for more info. Good luck! ;D
