Can I Just Use the Auxillary Inputs for MP3Player

Can someone please tell me if you can listen to your MP3 Player through the radio by just using the auxillary red an white audio inputs? I tried this but got no sound. Not sure if it is supposed to work this way or I didn't do something right. Thanks for your responses.

Thanks. Do you need to have a special cable, or turn on a particular feature?

You just need a Y-cable or something that has RCA on one side and the regular headphone plug on the other.

You just turn on the MP3 player and press "AUX" and control with the MP3 player.

I am looking to set up my MP3 player to play through my OEM Bose HU w/ 6cd changer. Car: '05 G35 Coupe 6MT - no navi.

I have heard about the ipod integration, but I don't have an ipod and could care less about fully integrating it, just want the AUX cables (if they exist).

Any help with an '05?
